Did anyone see the article on TMZ about the actor who played the dad and pastor on seventh heaven? Apparently he was secretly taped at a therapy session by his exwife and admits to molesting several young girls. They have the audio and all. It's so sad in so many ways, what do you think?

I think my favorite childhood/adolescent show has been ruined! Even in it's always sunny, he was the "good" guy! I just saw an US that he was canned from Ted 2.

Yeah apparently he confessed to her two years ago, yet she did nothing about it. Her lawyer told her to record his therapy session?? I find that just as sad and disgusting as what he did

I saw that and it makes me sad. Not because I loved the show at one point, but because it just makes me sick and saddens me that anybody would take advantage of a child that way. I don't think the therapist can report something like that unless there is a concern of ongoing abuse towards a specific victim who he still has access to. The ex-wife is disgusting, she obviously had suspicions but kept them to herself until she could use the information to her advantage. Who knows if there were any other victims in the years it took her to come forward. I hope that weighs heavily on her conscience.

One of the stories said some 54 year old woman said that the abuse happened 40 years ago.

Fishy.

I don't know if he's a perv or not and i didn't listen to it so I have no idea either way if it is true, just found the story interesting. I realize tmz is a tabloid but they are known for breaking some big stories. I hope it's not true cause it's sad

Apparently you can secretly record others in California, it's illegal where I live though (PA)

It's legal to record someone in California and use it as evidence if the person being recorded is being accused of committing a violent crime..In which case, molestation could be considered a violent crime.
I heard the audio, it definitely sounds like him. But this was two years ago!!! His wife is an awful person for keeping this to herself until it benefited her to use it. If I were in her shoes, the second my husband admitted to something like that, you had better believe my ass would be going to the police immediately. That is disgusting.

This is absolutely awful.

And before people start flaming his ex wife, she apparently recorded him on advice of her lawyer (after he confessed to her,) handed the tape over to authorities back in 2012 in accordance with a criminal investigation, they got divorced, and she had nothing to do with its release. She might have done everything right.

After reading a couple articles about this online my understanding is that she reported his confession to the police in 2012 and nothing has been done about it (please correct me if I'm wrong). If the allegations are true, he's sick and needs to be locked up. Maybe she finally leaked the tape because she couldn't live with the fact that he could still be out there molesting children. Sometimes there needs to be a public uproar for certain things to be investigated further. If it was me, this would not be about hurting my ex or trying to get any kind of profit. It would 100% be about protecting other children.

I was totally shocked as well. It's just beyond me how anyone can take advantage of children in such a manner. If it is all true (and I heard the tape and it sounds like it probably is), I hope that both he and the victims have received the proper counseling.
