So I work overnight from 11 pm to 7am. I'm just wondering if any of you work this crazy shift and if y'all are having any crazy side effects or sleep issues.
I am a can for an assisted live place I work 1030pm - 7 am . By 230 -3 am I'm can't keep my eyes open but by the time I get off and home about 715 I can't sleep and when I do fall asleep I'm wide awake by 1pm uuggghhhhhh. Glad I'm not alone
I work nights in the ED. 7-7. It's hard but I try to keep all my shifts together so I don't have to try to flip. But my first night back on real life schedule is rough! This weekend my kids were gone so I got to sleep all day 3 days and it was glorious! I feel completely normal now!! Tomorrow won't be so nice though!
I've never worked nights but I can't even imagine. That must suck when you're so tired. I do however work long day shifts, often 7.30am-6pm and I find that by about 1pm I struggle to keep my eyes open and I get very achy. Mind you at the moment even if I start work at 10am (which I do on the very odd occasion) I still can't keep my eyes open. The joys of pregnancy fatigue.

I recently took a new job working 12a-8a. Man has it been rough just trying to figure out when to eat and sleep! I just hope I am doing enough of both for the baby.
I also work 7p-7a 3 days a week. Right now it's just my husband and I. And he has a similar schedule so we're able to sleep most of the day. I usually get 7-8 hours pretty regularly (sorry to rub it in) only waking up to pee every few hours. My biggest complaint is that it's hard to stay comfortable throughout my sleep.
I work 1900-0700 and it kills me after the 3rd night! Morning sickness turns into an all day event and I feel like a zombie. I make sure to pack lots of snacks like cashews, salads, yogurt/granola and (my only guilty pleasure) S'mores Poptarts. It's not too bad until I'm done the 3rd shift. So glad there are other pregnant shift workers out there...good luck all!
