Hey guys! I'm looking for advice on house repiping. We have to replace our plumbing and We are debating copper vs Pex. Please weigh in with your thoughts!
I hope to create a real siggy but first I need some sleep!
DH says PEX all the way, it's a no-brainier. It's faster, easier to replace and survives cold weather. DH has been running his own construction business for 6 years and been in construction for 20 years. Good luck!
Thanks for the responses! Cold weather isn't an issue in San Diego but I appreciate the feedback. Ugh. Sometimes I wish we could go back to living in a tiny beach apartment, cramped and happy, just calling someone else when something broke.

We had to replace our outgoing lines last year. Definitely do PEX over copper. The copper erodes away after time, plus tree roots will actually find the water by growing through the copper pipes - that's what happened to ours. They will also start to rust and the corrosion will build up in the pipe, slowing down your water flow.
Re: House repiping, anyone done this?
