LO constipated?

I know I've seen this discussed before, but I can't find the thread. Any ideas for a constipated LO?
He has often gone every other or every 2nd day, but now he hasn't gone since friday. His poor little belly is bloated, and he is straining, but no luck. When he does pass gas it smells god-aweful!
I bf, but due to low supply we supplement as well.

ETA he is 7 weeks tomorrow.

  • Thanks for the tips. We will give them a try!
  • We use a probiotic in the morning and we get lo adjusted. It keeps him very regular. I had no idea how much having an aligned spine had to do with bowel movemenst but the first time he was adjusted the chiro told me to wait in the office an extra 15 minutes or so in case he had a blow out and sure enough, he did.

  • We've done the leg pumping and tummy massage, rectal temp, and a chiro adjustment yesterday and still nothing. :(
I have had several people tell us to put dark karo syrup in a bottle of milk 2x a day. Anyone have experience with this? I have a call in to the dr office but haven't heard back.
  • I was told 2 oz water to 1 tsp. karo (light) syrup 2-3 times a day. Seems to be working.

  • I just have to say you A14 ladies are awesome! Little A just had a big blowout and this mommy has never been so happy to do laundry in my life!
    Thanks much everyone!
  • Well we are back to square one. Haven't had another bm, and he is pretty uncomfortable again.
My Dr apparently doesn't recommend the karo syrup, but we had already given it before they called back. He recommended just an oz of water, but that hasn't done anything.
I have given 2 bottles with karo so far today....had another adjustment yesterday and still nothing.
@redhorizon343‌ -did you have to get a prescription for the suppository?
@jmathi0149‌ - where do you get the probiotic and how much do you give?
    Thanks ladies. I'm getting desperate!
  • We are using Gerber Soothe colic drops. They are a prolific supplement. We got them at Walgreens. They are pretty expensive but we put them on our HSA card.
