Christmas Pictures

When will you be doing them? Got any cute ideas? Bonus for pose pictures!

I'm looking for sibling ideas. I'm hoping my cousin will be able to do the kids's pictures over Thanksgiving but I've never had her do them before, so I'm not sure what she wants or needs.

Also, clothes advice? Should I look for Sib set outfits or just coordinate?
                We're Going to be a Family of 5!

    I bought absolutely hideous Christmas sweaters for all of us. We love doing ridiculous Christmas cards :) last year we just included family photos since we had them done not long before and they were so nice. I need to get on figuring this year out.

    I usually just do a collage of photos on Picasa from the year, print it out, and send them with our cards. We are doing family photos in the spring, and I don't have the energy right now to even think about doing anything else.

    We had one-year photos of LO taken in Feb. And church pictures of the family taken in Apr. I hope to get a nice fall-themed snapshot of LO (leaves or pumpkins or corn stalks or straw bales, I'm not picky) and make a three panel photo card.

    Last year I used a snapshot of our family, used the computer to type a holiday caption on the bottom and printed 4x6s at Walmart for 9 cents each (that was the cheapest I could find). Not super fancy, but got the job done and was good enough for me.

    Forgot to add, I agree with just coordinating. Pick a color theme and use favorite outfits you already have. We did denim, blue and white for family photos in Jun of 13. Brown and dark blue for family photos in Apr of this year. Just to give you a few ideas.

    I bookmarked this blog entry a month or so ago about color coordinating for pictures.  When I finally get my act together to get another family shoot scheduled, I will definitely be referencing it!

    I'm broke so I'll probably just ask my SIL who has a super nice camera and talent ;)

    I'm thinking probably just in front of the christmas tree. Maybe home boy will have on a witty shirt? :)

    last yr we did JC Penney's for the photos and shutterfly for the cards. They came out awesome. JC Penney's isn't the greatest, but our Christmas pics were so great. We did coordinating, but not matching outfits. DH wore a plaid button down, DD wore a black and red jumper with a grey bow on her head, and I wore a grey blazer with a red scarf. We all look so happy in the photos. I think that made the difference. Who knows what this year will bring. DD can be a beast, especially in the afternoon. I still need to book JC penney. I like to get them done early since they take 1-2 weeks to come back.
