So I woke up yesterday with, I think, it's a cold - stuffy nose, scratchy throat, slight headache, and couple body aches. I know that meds are generally not allowed and that's fine as I usually don't like taking meds anyway. However, I'm nervous that my immune system will attack baby. I'm 25 weeks tomorrow. Is baby too big now? Am I worrying for no reason? I don't think I have an immune problem but I am on baby aspirin and take Intralipids every 4 weeks. Also, this baby was conceived with donor eggs and dh sperm. So it's technically a foreign object. Idk, I'm just sorta nervous to be sick right now. Any advice? Anyone been in this position before? TIA!
Re: Feeling sick
Me 33, DH 37 -- TTC since Jan'12 -- Low AMH (0.78) & endo, SA w/ low motility
IUI's 1-3 = BFN, IVF converted to IUI 4/13 = BFN
IVF 1.2: 8R 6M 4F -- 2 blastocysts frozen, FET 8/15 = BFP!!
Beta #s = 445;1,098; 9,545 -- EDD 5/2 -- Team Pink!
I would call your doctor asap to clear all meds since you are already taking some, you don't want to risk any interactions. Also you want to double check that it's just a cold! Get some rest and feel better

Your baby will be fine. Tons of Moms get sick while pregnant - baby probably won't be affected at all. The idea that your immune system would attack your baby because it's fighting a bug is like being afraid it will attack your lungs - antibodies are very specifically targeted towards what they are fighting, and they don't attack other things.
The only situation where your immune system views baby as an enemy that is common (obviously there's some weird immune disorders out there, but they're very very rare) is when a baby is rH positive but the Mom is rH negative. This doesn't even usually affect the baby you're carrying, but if not treated during pregnancy with Rhogam shots, it can lead to the Mom's body attacking future rH positive babies if she's ever pregnant again.

BFP on May 5th after Follistim & IUI #3
I'll have to check with OB and see what she recommends. Besides the baby aspirin, I'm only drinking lots of oj and tea with honey and lemon. My throat's kinda cleared up and my stuffy nose is now a runny nose. Guess I'm on my way to recovery ..
