holy crap- fever and poor appetite

So DD has been battling a fever since Saturday and her appetite has decreased dramatically. She's eating next to no solids and decreased her fluid intake despite all my best efforts to encourage her to drink. She starts crying as soon as she sees a sippy cup or her bottle because she knows I'm going to try and make her drink. Her throat is not red or inflamed, but its really hard to see in the way back.The doctor yesterday didn't seem concerned as she shows no signs of dehydration, but is this really that normal? I mean, its like torture getting her to drink more than an ounce or two at a time. Anyone else's baby like this? She's even started refusing popsicles which were a sure winner up until now.

    @danaadell she did and didn't see anything, but DD wasn't exactly thrilled with someone trying to get in her mouth and fought it pretty hard. I'm not sure she was able to see very well. 

    I did notice some spots on her scalp and around her mouth just now before putting her down for a nap. I just sort of assumed it was heat rash, but maybe HFM is whats going on.....Can you get spots on the head with HFM? I thought it was more of an extremities type thing.

    Sounds like hand, foot & mouth. My dr didn't see anything in my daughter's mouth either, but he said the blisters could be hiding. A few days later, a blister popped up on her foot. Hopefully she feels better ASAP!

    Well, she definitely has a rash- its all over her head, face, chest and back now, but nothing on her arms, hands, feet or legs. I guess it could still be HFM? Or maybe roseola? Anyways, we'll be off to the doc's again today I'm sure!

    I would go back to the doctors if the rash has appeared since your first visit.  I am sorry your LO is feeling so sick!  I hope this next visit gives you more answers and your LO gets better soon!

    Yep, we went back this morning. He thinks its Fifth (slapped cheek) or Sixth (roseola) disease, or any of the other rashy childhood viruses. So, we just need to wait it out! Definitely not HFM based on presentation and a lack of any blisters or rash on hands, feet or mouth. He gave us a more aggressive regimen of tylenol, motrin and benadryl to see if that will help get her to eat or drink more. Apparently the dosages on the box tend to under dose.
