Post baby insomnia

My DD will sleep 12hrs straight, but I wake up every single night in the middle of the night for at least an hour. Just toss & turn..., it's so annoying. & only became a problem while pregnant & is still happening! Anyone else? Wondering if I should go see the doctor about it

    Could be from anxiety? Were you taking meds or seeing a councelor? I thought you had but I could be wrong. Wouldn't hurt to chat with them.

    Yes, I was having that problem, too. I don't have a problem falling asleep, but staying asleep when I wake MOTN is harder. I have started using lavendar oil on my feet at night before bed. It's helping some. I feel like I get into a deeper sleep. Last night I was still hard asleep at 6:30 when  a baby woke me and I went to sleep at about 11:30p. You could also try melatonin, but that isn't recommended for long term use. I would try some natural remedies  before seeing a doctor unless you know you already have some reasons to be concerned like pp mentioned. Good luck. It sucks not getting sleep when the baby is finally sleeping long stretches!

    I had a long couple months of post partum insomnia and realized it was due to anxiety. I wasn't sleeping ALL NIGHT. I didn't want medication so I tried oil of evening primrose for a few weeks and little by little I was able to sleep all night. I'm still unable to fall asleep before midnight but it's much better than before.

    When I have things on my mind, the wheels turn all night long & keep me up. But, I've felt anxiety free for awhile now & just wake up for nothing. We are moving to another state in 3wks. We found a great house, I will be going to work part time to help DH with our bills (a big cause of a lot of anxiety lately) & we are both SO excited to leave where we are shortly to get to a better place.

    His company packs, moves us & unpacks us so I don't really have to do much so that takes the stress of moving out.

    I really feel at peace right now! I did start taking melatonin but don't feel like it does anything....

    Even if the move is easy, and goig back to work will ease financial stress, they are both big life changes, and therefore stressful- even if it isn't negative stress.

    Same here. I've never slept well at night however, and prefer to sleep all day, which is why night shifts have always been so great for me.

    Feeling relaxed & happy & going to bed with a clear head.... maybe my sub-conscience is in overdrive. I can't nap at all... never do (unless its really needed) because then I am up ALL night!
