December 2013 Moms

Vent

Ahhhh so my LO who has slept through the night since 6 weeks old has had me up all night
A little over a week ago she had a cold (nose congestion, cough) so we had her sleeping in an upright slanted chair (belted in) in our room so I could listen for her breathing and coughing.
She amazingly continued to sleep through the night. Fast forward DH and I just got back yesterday from Denver so the past 3 nights she's been in a crib at my parents (so hasn't slept in her room or crib for well over a week)
She's been waking up crying every hour almost, the past 2 I've been watching her kick around and play
I finally got up to offer her a bottle and she fell asleep on me
Do I put her back in crib or just let her sleep, knowing she has to get back in her routine....
End tired rant......

Re: Vent

  • Apparently I'm too tired to read other posts but I did add my meaningless sleep complaint to sweet home alaspama
  • Loading the player...
  • I vote back in the crib.

  • Thanks guys. She went back in the crib and I got a solid 3 more hours from her
And sorry I wasn't looking for sympathy, I realize we lucked out with the baby sleep.
Just more venting coming off no sleep myself
    Didn't mean to offend anyone
After posting my original thread I went onto read the sweet home alaSpama thread and posted there along with all the other no sleep mommas

So here is my take when you have a great sleeper and then they wake up something is wrong with them. Maybe they are sick or teething. You do whatever they want. They will go back to being a good sleeper when they feel better.
My second comment is when your child sleeps thru the night at six weeks old and you know the majority here Are not you stfu about your one night of shitty sleep. My kid was every two hours last night again teething.

  • If you've read through all comments I did say that after making this inconsiderate post I was reading the spam thread and made my post probably in the appropriate place. This probably wouldn't have been such an issue with myself had we not just had a red eye flight back and I don't do well traveling (planes) and suffer severe anxiety when flying No more sleep posts from me

Well said @qbq! This has nothing to do with you being "popular". It has to do with you "venting" to a bunch of ladies who have had a hell of a lot more days of no sleep than just one. Kind of ridiculous. I really don't know how you even survived your day on such little sleep OP. It mush have been so horrid.

  • I guess you're right @bty19‌. I think I let pure exhaustion get the best of me there. I'm literally struggling to stay awake right now. My body has been forcefully shutting my eyes on me since 4pm and there's no sign of bed time anytime in the near future. I guess my 10+months of no sleep could be someone's one day. I will try to take it less to heart next time I guess. But, the popularity card is pretty annoying. I will say that.

Honestly I think what set people off is that she's a "stranger". I bet if it was a more active poster it would have been mildly annoying at best.

If her kid was not sleeping for more than ONE DAY I would understand the venting.....but ONE day, give me a break. If someone had one day of rough breast feeding or one day of struggling with anything-it really doesn't need it's own post...idc who you are.
    haha, true.

A semi reg or reg would know better...I hope.

True but it wouldn't have been so irritating IF a reg had said this.

  • Got it, my sincerest apologies
I'll stick to lurking and appreciating the good advice on this board
Sorry to have offended anyone again
  • As a mom who's kid STTN from the early weeks also, it does suck when they have a night where they're up lol

  • Honestly I tried to be nice about it at first but her use of the "I'm just not popular" line is what put me over the edge. I get that we all need to vent sometimes, but seriously know your audience and don't act all offended that we don't give you "support" when you are basically a lurker coming out of lurkdom to cry over 1 night of missed sleep and humble brag about your perfect sleeper and your mini vacation. Seriously the more she typed the more annoyed I got...
