rant&opinions

Woke up extremely stuffy this morning, I've been blowing my nose and sneezing allllll day long today. Not sure what's going on but I'm sure hoping I wake up feeling better tomorrow!
I have a dr appointment Wednesday and due on Friday, I'm still working and planned to go as far as I can, however I'm not sure if come Friday and baby hasn't arrived yet I should continue to work or just call it quits after Friday. I can't make up my mind! I just don't want to sit at home for a week and still no baby..I'd like to spend all the time i can with the baby when he comes before i have to go back to work..

Re: rant&opinions

  • So what is your question? Should you go on Mat leave early?

  • How much time are you able to take off work? If you have a job that you can do comfortably, why not continue to work? There is no way in hell I'm working through my due date....10 hrs a day on my feet is killing me!
  • If you don't have to give a firm departure date then I don't see the problem.  If you're still pregnant on Sunday, decide then if you want to continue going to work or start maternity leave early.  If you want to work up until your water breaks or contractions begin, go for it.

  • It was a lot harder for me to go back after the baby was born than it was to stick it out waiting for delivery.  If you can handle it, I say keep working, especially if you have limited time off after.

I agree with this. Or if you are trying to avoid going back before the holidays. With DS, I worked right through the Friday before I delivered (he was born that following Monday). This time, I'm going out at 39 1/2 weeks whether baby is here or not, but that puts me back at work right after New Years, which is totally fine. It's hard to go back, IMO. Save your time now for later.
