Trouble TTC

IUI 7po

hi all I'm hoping someone can give me reassurance, I'm 7 days post IUI today, 10 days post trigger shot...I tested out the trigger shot..yesterday I felt as I would before my period....is this normal??? This TWW is so stressful.

Re: IUI 7po

  • Hi...this would have been a nice place to put your intro. Symptoms mean nothing without a positive test and symptom spotting will make you crazy. Also, implantation doesn't happen until 7-10DPO, so you may not have even implanted, if you even will at all. Please lurk a little, read the newbie blog, and post an intro. We are a great community, but posts essentially asking if you could be pregnant are in poor taste.

  • I, for one, would like to know why your doctor is giving you an IUI 3 days past trigger shot. That's waaay too late and your egg would no longer be viable.

    My thoughts exactly.

OP, unfortunately you just need to wait it out.  There is no way strangers on the internet can tell you if you are pregnant with any degree of accuracy.  I say wait a week and pee on a stick then.

  • Honestly there is no way to know without testing. Early pregnancy symptoms and early menstrual symptoms are the same. If I were you I would buy some dollar store pregnancy tests (pink dye only) and test each morning for a few days. Good luck!!
    Curious why pink dye only?
  • how are we supposed to know what you feel like before your period?  call your doctor if you are worried, or pee on some sticks.  I think you'll find they are way more accurate than a bunch of people you don't know on the internet.
  • Did want to add because perhaps you didn't realize...any early pregnancy symptoms could only be caused by HCG entering your system from an implanted embryo. It takes at least 1-2 days after implantation for HCG from the embryo could be measured in your blood or urine. Implantation happens between 6DPO and 12DPO (usually 7-10DPO).

Unfortunately, any symptoms of pregnancy would be the exact same as symptoms of PMS. And, both can vary and overlap from cycle to cycle or pregnancy to pregnancy. If you don't have enough HCG to make a test positive, then there's not enough to cause symptoms. Therefore, any symptoms you are experiencing could only be PMS.

Of course, since your body would be exactly the same at this point even if you are pregnant, PMS doesn't mean you are not pregnant. Hope that helps.

Good luck and if you are not pregnant, please find a doctor who knows enough to time an IUI at a time when you have a viable egg to give you half a chance.

  • There is no way to tell if your symptoms are pregnancy related or pms related or just in your head. Please read the newbie blog, lurk for a while, maybe give us an intro with a little info about yourself. Like ketchup said, we are not Google. Good luck.

@Ann612 - Blue dye tests are notorious for false positives.  Pink dye tests are more accurate.
