Anyone know if there is a site like SART where you can compare hospital data about deliveries, births, etc? I searched around but haven't found anything. There are two major hospitals in Charlotte (both with level IV NICUs and with similar FTM c-section rates) so I'd like to get more information and stats on how labor and deliver is at both of them if I can.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Website to compare hospital data?
I would interview OB practices who deliver at the two hospitals. Usually an OB practice will only have privileges with one hospital, so figuring out who your care provider will be is part of picking a hospital.
First I'd call your insurance and get a list of all the OB clinics that are in network. Then ask friends for recommendations and cross reference with the list. I also google doctor recommendations on "RateMyMD" type websites.
Then I'd call and see if you can set up a meet-and-greet to establish if this practice will suit your needs (or a phone call, if you prefer. But I liked visiting to see office staff, wait times, facilities, etc.). Ask those doctors what their rates are for all those things you are concerned about - ask about the hospital where they deliver, and see if you can take a tour (usually part of the birthing class later in pregnancy, but sometimes you can request to do it early when considering where to deliver).
Hope that helps! We only had 2 choices of practices and 2 hospitals - I didn't like one practice or the closer hospital, so I was glad the other practice delivered at the other hospital, so my choice was fairly easy.

If you are undecided, I would do tours at both. Honestly, they are both #1 hospitals, and you will be fine at either one. Good luck!

The obgyn and practice I saw before I went to an RE is with Presby. I like her but if CMC was better than Presby looking at data then I was completely open to switching to a different obgyn practice. My RE is with CMC and I really like him. The people I know who have kids are a split between the two places but one of my closest friends delivering in the spring is at CMC.
Do you really like your main doc that is with CMC?

You can get a five dollar per month membership to CR, which could also be helpful in setting up your registry. They test lots of baby items!
