Finally a birth story ( Emma2370)

Sorry it has taken a while

Catherine Eve was born September 8th 7 pounds 6 oz at 11.40 am 19 3/4 inches long.I woke around 4am hearing a pop with what felt like a huge kick follwed by a painful contraction. With another contraction a short time later I got up to use the bathroom, thankfully I made it to the hardwood floor outside the bedroom and my water broke with a slow trickle.
I turned on the bedroom light and told my husband it was time to wake up, he said " its still dark its not time to go to work" then it hit him he bolted out of bed and said" its time", rushing pulling his clothes on and put his head under the bathroom faucet to style his hair.
We were on the road once we had called the hospital and pulled together a few things. the ride was perfect no traffic so early in the morning and I was having no contractions.
Once we were checked in they confirmed my water was broken and checked me I was still the 3 cm I had been for weeks. They started me on the Pitocin this was around 6.30 am. I was hooked up to the monitors which made the contractions difficult to handle as I could not move around. By 8am I needed the epidural. The nurse went out to check 45 min later she finally came back and said its a go. they checked me again and I was 9 cm.
Having the epidural in the middle of contractions was very difficult but major relief once it was in.I still felt the contractions a little on my left side but I relaxed with a birthing ball between my legs to help get baby in position. Once I started shaking I told my husband it was time to get the nurse. They started setting up the room in the middle of this I turned to my husband and said "she is going to be born alive" Months of anxiety finally washed over me in huge sobs of tears. Then I was ready to push. 25 mins later our daughter was born perfect and alert with tears of joy and a thankful hearts.
Catherine is now 3 weeks old and getting bigger by the day she is such a joy.Thank you ladies for all your love and support.Here is a picture of our beautiful girl.
