I was given pain medication after my c-section. I have always been very cautious about taking pain killers and am curious as a FTM when people have stopped needing their pain meds.

I stopped the narcotics on day 3 and the ibuprofen on day 11 post c-section.

For my c/s I was only given iv narcotics for 1 day. From There I had extra strength ibprofin which I took off and on for about 2 ish weeks. I stopped earlier but then went back to it when I realized I stopped too soon. With my vbac, 2nd degree tear and tailbone pain I took it may be a week.

I stopped taking the Percocet after a couple days, and even when I was taking it I took it like once or twice a day, not every few hours as recommended. I stopped taking ibuprofen after a week to 10 days, I think.

I had two tears and just felt so sore. I had ibuprofen and Percocet. I used the ibuprofen about once a day for two weeks and the Percocet for "breakthrough pain" to take the edge off.

I had a second degree episiotomy and alternated Norco and 800mg ibuprofen. I took a Norco right before I went home at about 28 hours post delivery. My ob didn't discharge me with a prescription so I've taken different amounts of ibuprofen since then. Episiotomy pain went away at a week or so and sadly now I take the ibuprofen for the horrible hemmorhoids that showed up with pushing.

FTM and c section - 600 mg of motrin as needed. I stopped taking it every 6 hours at 1.5 weeks. I stopped the oxy around the and time.

I had a csection and stopped percocet and iborophen on day 4 and have taken nothing since then

I had a vaginal delivery and stopped taking percocet about one week in. After day 3 I was only taking them at night too. I'm still taking my Motrin often but my stitches are still being a bitch and I tore straight to the urethra. Ouch! My episiotomy with DD1 was SO much easier to deal with then this. I wish she would have just cut me again.

I filled the Percocet Rx, but I haven't used any. I've been spacing out my naproxen (acetaminophen) to take it in the morning and evening, though I could probably stop taking it in a couple days. I'm at almost two weeks. I didn't dare ask how badly I tore, I don't want to imagine what it looks like down there, but I know I did tear (possibly twice based on the pain and discomfort) and they were stitching me up for quite awhile (even DH expressed concern over how much stitching was going on and he has a little medical experience).

I had c-section after 24 hours of labor. They gave me morphine drip during surgery that worked for 24 hrs. Then oxy, ibuprofen, and tylenol. Stopped oxy after the second night bc it gave me some crazy night terrors. Still on 600 mg of ibuprofen every 6-8 hours / today is day 8. I am thinking I will probably stop by the end of this week. I stopped tylenol around day 5.

I took my Norco every 4 hours and my Motrin every 6 hours for the first week and started going longer in between doses and going without the Norco ovenight in the second week. Was completely off them by the third week.

I was pulled off all pain medications to help my liver at 1 week, but I honestly think I did fine without them. I might have taken them for another couple of days and I still hurt occasionally, but it's mostly the itching sensation of healing.
