Hello all,
I am new here and have a question. A quick rundown of me: my husband and I have been trying to conceive for 2.5 years. We have 3 miscarriages under our belt, with the last one at 5 weeks that began August 19, 2014. The egg didn't have a yolk so the miscarriage wasn't truly 5 weeks along.
I tested again on September 19 to a positive test. My first hcg mapping levels were on September 22 and they read at 2,687. My second round was on September 25 and they read 5,325. I went I today, Octover 03, for my first ultra sound. It shows I am 5 weeks and 5 days along with a solid heartbeat visible. I did another round of hcg testing and won't get my results until October 06. I also won't get my ultrasound read from my doctor until then, as well.
My question lies with hcg levels. At 4 weeks an 5 days my levels were well over the normal range. Is this normal? Have any of you experienced a high hcg level early on?
Thanks in advance!
Re: Hcg levels in first trimester?
Thank you very much for your reply and kind words.
How do you calculate Dpo? Also, with miscarriages, so you're Dpo stay the same?
I never have a 28 day cycle; I am generally habe a 30 to 31 day cycle. I normally ovulate on day 15-16, so I late ovulation.
Confused because I normally ovulate on days 15-16. However, it seem I have ovulated earlier due to the miscarriage last month.
Thank you very much for all your help!
I got more blood work done the day of my ultrasound and the results came in today. My hcg went up to 8250 from the 5325, but there was about 4-5 days in between. I am going for another ultrasound on October 14 to ensure the baby is growing.
My question lies around hcg, even though I know that's not a viable source for baby growth. Does it matter than I'm now 6 weeks and 1 days and my numbers only rose a bit with out doubling and it was 5 days in between testing?

Thank you very much! Worrying sometimes consumes me and it is a blessing to hear from you and your opinion. It has calmed me drastically! I meet with the midwife on the 14th and will know more. Everything seems great, thus far.
I appreciate your honesty and timely response, I truly needed to hear this from someone other than my husband or doctor.
