So, a bunch of our stuff broke at the same time. Our washer, microwave, and faucet in the kitchen. Im overwhelmed by choices.
I'm not too sad about the washer because even though it was only 4 years old, I hate it. It's HE and never seemed to really clean stuff. The girls stained stuff I'd be running 2-3 times. Even my relatively clean stuff would require 2 extra rinses, because it would be full of detergent streaks. So not really very energy efficient. Do I just need to go back to a non-HE washer with an agitator? So, can anyone recommend a washer that does a good job on kids dirty stuff? I figured mothers of 2 year old are a good group to ask.
And if you have a microwave you love or any experience with those faucets that turn on by just touching them, please tell me about it.
Re: Halp! Appliance Advice needed
I still have my old fashioned, water-wasting washer and I love it. Sorry, no advice there.
As far as faucets, I couldn't believe the amount of choices out there. I believe the touch faucets require a battery every so often, so maybe look and see how much those batteries cost, and how often the battery might need replaced. I don't know anyone personally who has them, but I'm sure they're nice! Moen and Kohler are the top brands and they both offer replacement protection. I recommend getting one of those brands just for that reason.
I have all Samsung appliances right now and have no complaints about them. My appliances are only two years old though, so take that for what it's worth. It was a real shame to replace all my perfectly fine, 25 year old appliances for new ones that I know won't last for more than 5 or 6 years!
I think I'm going to go back to a regular washer. My complaints ( besides not working anymore) about my washer seem common with HE washers. Too bad, but it doesn't save energy if it takes 3 washes to do 1 load.
Thanks for the input, guys. And that firepit idea is kind of badass
