SO I just had a friend tell me that at 16 weeks they were told girl and then later were told boy at 21 weeks. Is this really still common? I figured it would be super common back in the day but not recently as much. Has this happened to anyone recently??
Just curious.....I was told girl but am waiting for one more ultrasound to start buying stuff but I feel like my doctor has to be right even though he didn't get that good of a view during the ultrasound.
Re: Has Dr ever gotten sex wrong?
I've heard stories but no one I knew recently has ever had this happen until now.
@071115 Yes 16 weeks is early. I was told boy last time at 16 weeks and didn't trust it until later on either.

I always felt like it was a random person that this happened to but now that my friend told me her story, I am thinking this isn't as uncommon as I thought.
I'm so afraid of this happening. I didn't even want a "guess" at my N/T scan. Unless they know for sure... I don't want to know!
Hopefully my anatomy scan will give an obvious answer. It will be a high definition U/S, so hopefully it's clear!
We are planning to find out sex but things like this makes team green super appealing!

My last intuition was a boy and it was right. I don't think I really had any intuition this time around.

I’m a modern man, a man for the millennium. Digital and smoke free. A diversified multi-cultural, post-modern deconstruction that is anatomically and ecologically incorrect. I’ve been up linked and downloaded, I’ve been inputted and outsourced, I know the upside of downsizing, I know the downside of upgrading. I’m a high-tech low-life. A cutting edge, state-of-the-art bi-coastal multi-tasker and I can give you a gigabyte in a nanosecond! I’m new wave, but I’m old school and my inner child is outward bound. I’m a hot-wired, heat seeking, warm-hearted cool customer, voice activated and bio-degradable. I interface with my database, my database is in cyberspace, so I’m interactive, I’m hyperactive and from time to time I’m radioactive.
I never understand why people go nuts with pink strollers, and car seats, and everything else, just because baby #1 is a girl. Not that babies care, and it's really just a color. But all the frilly pink stuff, you're just not gonna want to use if you have a boy the next time around.
I especially don't get it because I sure as hell don't wear and live in a world of pink frills just because I'm lacking in penis. In my eyes it seems just as strange to do it to a baby.
I don't think I'll believe them if they tell us it's a girl. We have two boys and odds aren't in my favor. I love squishy little boys and we just want another healthy baby, but I'd be super thrilled to have a little girl as this is our last child. I would go nuts with pink and bows as everything we have is neutral and I like pink damnit lol.
I feel like I won't be able to really believe the dr or tech, and wouldn't buy anything gender-specific until after the LO arrives anyway.
Baby came out... BOY!
Her DH had to go home and switch out all of the baby gear. They also hadn't discussed boy names.
That was a little over a year ago. It happens.

@frecklesinside My version of "back in the day" for this post was really meaning when our parents had us. My mom said her ultrasound was so unclear but she was still told girl. I just heard of it really happening more with our parents generation. I had never really known anyone around my age personally that it had happened to recently.
