My name is Stefanie, born mid 80s...I like my name and I love the spelling, though it never gets spelled right, but it doesn't bother me much. I was not given a middle name at birth, and I like that too.
Patricia, which would be fine except for all the horrid nns. I live in a part of the country where strangers routinely default to Pat, which I loathe. I will be choosing a nickname-proof name for my child.

My name is Michaela (Ma-Ki-La) and l love it. It can be annoying because it's often mispronounced, but I'm over that. I just go with the flow.
It's often a conversation starter and I'm receive a lot of compliments. It helped me to be remembered by others because they always wanted to make sure they were pronouncing it correctly.
My name is Nicole. Growing up there was another Nicole (I went to the same school with the same people from K to 12th grade). She was big Nicole and I was little Nicole because I was so short. (Thank goodness I wasn't tall, Big Nicole is horrible). Anyways, I have never gone to school, had a job, etc. where there wasn't another Nicole. That being said, I have an uncommon middle and last name (even after I married) so it has worked out. I also Hate being called Nicki or Nikki or anything close. My family calls me Coley and I have always liked this nickname.
I was born in 1969. My name is one that became very popular in the 1970s, although I would say that I went to school with a lot more girls named Jennifer, Kelly, Lisa, and Karen than girls with my own name. In my experience my name was unusual, even though that's not statistically correct for my generation. Maybe my state was just not typical of the entire country at that time.
I like my name. It has a diminutive nickname (think Jenny to Jennifer) that I dislike, but it's never been an issue. I just tell people, "Oh, I don't go by that nickname." Only one person in my entire life has insisted on using the nickname, but he was a weirdo anyway.
Mine is Megan and I love it. I am glad that my mother spelled it the most popular way and didn't try to make it youneek. (Megyn etc) I liked having a popular name. I even have met some little Megans!
Staci. Very 80s but I like it for the most part. The spelling throws people off but there are so many ways that I don't mind it. It's a name where there is not just one correct spelling.
Jessica Diana. Very unoriginal for an 80s baby, but I never had a problem with it. Wasn't crazy about my mn growing up, but now can appreciate that it's a family name.
