Maternity Clothes- military hint included

some of us are already sporting them, some of us will use a hair-tie until it is bordering on being a dangerous projectile... And some of us are screwed either way because of either the fit (very tall or very short, the struggle is REAL!!) or because of uniform reasons.

So if you know any good places to buy maternity clothes for tall women, PLEASE share (same for petite)

The HARDEST I've discovered, is uniforms. I wear 5.11 EMS pants at the station and the tunneling waist band is fucking amazing. These fit like maternity pants anyways BUT I know they won't last the whole pregnancy, and for the cost I will NOT modify them permanently. If anyone knows where someone can buy maternity uniforms for emergency personnel (medics, firefighters, police...) or other uniformed positions, PLEASE post the hell out of it.

(Side note for military, especially if you're a FTM and AD...) when you reach the point of wearing the maternity duty uniform, the trousers are bullshit. The parachute of a top isn't much better, but the trousers suck. You might be better off seeing if you can use a belly band of some sort that is the same color as the belly panel of the maternity pants (for army, it's the color of the green fleece still, unless they changed it up again) you can probably ask one of the sewing shops to help you put button holes on the band even to secure the band to your usual trousers. The big difference, besides the fabric quality, is the pockets. The maternity ACU's have fewer and smaller pockets and you will be hard pressed to fit your head gear in there- especially if you have to carry anything else in them.

I wanted to post the last bit because I know more than a15 checks our boards, and though I hardly wore the maternity ACU's (I just barely showed that pregnancy) they still sucked. (And the tops suck bad enough it might be worth it to buy larger sized tops and prolong that as long as possible as well...)

As for other uniforms, such as EMS or police, I can't help much except to say the 5.11's are great for the beginning and can easily stretch under your belly. Beyond that, I'm hoping for others to chime-in.
