  • Also- my baby lost that sweet sweet baby smell due to the fact that shes on Alimentum formula and that shit stinks. Like REEKS. She smells like a sack of potatoes. Actually, we both smell like a sack of potatoes because that shit is in my clothes and doesn't come out.

My husband loves Yankee Candle more than any man I've ever personally known.
  • When I got up to feed one of the babies last night, the cat barfed all over my side of the bed. Asshole. Then, my husband would not get out of bed so I could change the sheet until I laid down a thick guilt trip. I wish we could get rid of that damn cat, but the older kids would flip out.

My DH is on a conference call so I can't have him make me a coffee. I'm confined to the nursery while BFing DD too because of it. Just generally stabby that I don't have my coffee yet.
  • DH said he was going to try to pick DS1 up from preschool to save me a trip since I have to go back out that way later this afternoon for the baby's dr. appointment. He had to confirm with his boss first, and now he's not answering his phone so I don't know if he's going or not. I have to leave in 15 minutes to get him and I'm going to be super annoyed if I drive out there and so does he.
  • I keep getting sores on my breast, 6 on the right one on the left. Midwife said they are just capillaries breaking but so freaking irritating. Also DD woke up at 2:45 this morning and wouldn't go back to sleep till 4. You haven't done that since before you were 1.

  • @LolaSimonLove the hot pack could be making your plugged duct worse! Heat might make it feel ok but it actually makes the swelling and inflammation worse! Try a cold pack instead it decreases the swelling and helps with pain. I made this mistake myself, the heat makes for a much longer recovery.

DS is driving me crazy.  He just turned 3 months old on Friday, so it could totally be a growth spurt, and I think he's about to start a wonder week, too.  He's so clingy and fussy.  He's so tired he falls asleep nursing, so I unlatch him...causing him to then wake up and FREAK the fuck out that there's not a boob in his mouth. I have been chained to the couch for the last few days with a baby attached to me even more than usual.  Poor guy is also drooling like mad, has a stuffy nose, and is constantly chewing his hands, so he may be teething as well.

Meanwhile, DH is pissing me off with his comments about me being on my phone.  He came downstairs this morning, "Oh, what a surprise, Mama's on her phone."  And what SHOULD I be doing to try to stay awake while nursing our son after being up several times doing much of the same? Watching TV since that's pretty much what you do when you have downtown?  Gee, that's SO much better. Until you have lactating boobs and take over MOTN feeds and times when he just wants to use me as a pacifier since he won't take a pacifer, which is like all the time lately, STFU!

I think we are living parallel lives. I hope it gets better.
First Baby and a complete surprise.
Hubby has decided to be team green so we are driving friends and family crazy!

Thanks! Kellymom said to try heat, massage and pumping, which still hasn't worked. I'll try ice and see if it helps.

You're welcome. If you need to try warm, instead of hot, right before you feed or pump so it flows better and then do cold right after. Hope it helps! :)

  • DS will not nap today unless I'm holding him. But I have a million things to do.. All he wants is to be held and sleep or eat. Maybe a growth spurt?

Told myself I'd get back on the healthy bandwagon and go to the store and workout today.. well I had a nice bagel for breakfast and leftover fried chicken and biscuits for lunch. I'd say I'm not off to a great start.
  • "New boss" ... you're an IDIOT. You're not a team player at all. You're predecessor would stay late when needed, would jump in to help out, ect all without asking. Also when you don't know something, say so. Don't pretend like you know then come running to me to help you get out of the cluster you got yourself into.

Oh and don't worry, I'll come in early and stay late (on my day off) to help cover call-in shifts. Its not like I have a newborn at home, or I'm running on 5 hours of sleep, or that I haven't seen my DH for longer than 4 hours in the past three weeks. I'll also do the same tomorrow so you can enjoy your day off with your wife while I'm getting ass fucked all day bc we're short staff!

P.S. Lastly "Authentic Americans" would be Native Americans, not "white people" dumbass!

That was so random next to the rest of your MBF haha.

Pretty much all of this, except sub donuts for bagel/chicken/biscuits.

  • Woke up to a plugged duct. Not sure how <1oz of milk can even do that since that's all I get out f the damn things. I'm determined to store as much as I can before they dry up completely and may just be prolonging my own agony. All of this makes me stabby.

Got up to deal with said clog and left DH with poopy LO. Came back to poopy LO because "change the baby" wasn't clear enough, apparently.

Applied for a job that I'm perfect for. Oh, apart from the fact that I can't do all Saturday, every Saturday because childcare. It's part time so apparently it's Saturdays because clearly part-time means "Saturday person" in this country. Say 'Saturdays a must' or GTFO.

Plugged duct means headache and temperature.

Chaperoned DD1's field trip today. She was the only girl (other was off sick), there are 2 boys and a small herd of wild animals in her class. Or is it mean to refer to the other boys as that? Wanted to run them over but that would be mean.

Eff today. I'm going to eat cookies and glare at everything.
  • During our weekly meeting, my boss told me that privacy wasn't guaranteed for any of the rooms I have available to pump in, so maybe I should drive home and pump at lunch.  That's a big no since it takes 15 mins each way to get home, then I'd have to set up the whole pump mess that I carted to work for the morning pumping .  Yes, I live close to work but not close enough to drive home, pump, and eat lunch on my lunch hour.  Not to mention taht Saturday is only a 30 min lunch...

    image

And then she said I can't guarantee to be able to leave work in time to pick up the baby so I may as well have my husband be ready to do it.  That's great except it takes him an hour and a half to get to the daycare and it would only take me 20 minutes tops...except if I have to stay late because other parents don't come pick up their kids on time.

Yeah, that'd be great, make me stay and be late to pick up my kid which may require the daycare to call CPS on me.  Yet I can't call CPS on people who just leave their kids at random public buildings.  Ugh.

A new mom (3 week old baby) posted on fb that she is back in her pre-pregnancy jeans. Which is awesome, except that she is morbidly obese, and never looked pregnant. Congratulations for still being fat, I guess?

Omg I just snorted at this!
  • My grandma stays with us every once in a while since DS has been born. It's nice having her around, she helps with DS and loves getting to spend time with him. However, she is driving me nuts with her little comments and jabs about how we do things with DS. He hasn't been sleeping great and she just has all sorts of theories on what we are doing wrong. We don't put rice cereal in his bottles, we don't give him a bath every night, we don't keep him awake enough during the day.

Yesterday she asked me if I put his diaper on right. Seriously!? I've been putting his diaper on for 12 weeks in pretty sure it's on right. Tonight he was really fussy and fought us when we tried getting him to sleep. Later she asks me why he was crying so much. Idk, because he's a baby and he's tired and sometimes they just cry. Then she asks me if I'm sure he wasn't just hungry since I hadn't fed him since 6 and it was 8:30 now. I fed him at 8 before putting him to sleep! To top it off she tells me we should just let her get him to sleep since we seem to have trouble with it lately.

She's staying with us until the 17th and I told my mom after that she can just stay with her. I'm sick of her questioning everything, her comments, and making us feel like everything we do is wrong!

  • Whoever said fevers are good for you can eff off and die in a hole. I can't stand up without going dizzy, can't carry anything without falling over and everything looks wibbly.

I know they're good for your deep insides but my outsides do not appreciate any of it. Plus there was really good dinner that MiL made and I couldn't eat because my head hurt when I sat up so I only got a mouse-sized plate then had to lie down.

^wrote that yesterday but apparently forgot to hit send. Curse you, fever.
  • @ADC1979‌ - I Think By Law, aren't they required to have a room for women to pump in at work? I'm sorry that your boss is so unsupportive - what an a$$.
They are, but apparently rooms that anyone can walk into are fine.  Being a public building, maintenance guys often just walk into rooms to check on things and don't read signs and whatnot.  Yeah., it's awesome.  When I bring it up to her she pulls the "well all the women here have had to do this before" yadda yadda--forgetting that I'm the first to have a baby since this became law, all of the other people here who had kids are older ladies who have kids my age (not kidding on that), and all the other workers around my age haven't had kids yet.

The sad thing is I thought we had all this settled before I went on maternity leave.  Ugh.

I do it to my OH to be irritating, the concept is the same though - it's REALLY hard to open a door when there's a chair behind it with someone sat on it!
