Am I the only one freaked out about this enterovirus? My LO has started with a runny nose and now I am parinoid. I hate sick kids and all these weird viruses. Just had to get that out. Thanks
No, pretty worried here, too. First case in LA County hit in my city and I've been monitoring DD pretty closely. Makes me not want to take her outside in public areas. Bleeeh.
It's definitely scary but not every child who gets it ends up really sick. The important thing to watch for is wheezing or difficulty breathing. Those are the severe symptoms that are an indication of impending respiratory distress. There is a lot if scary stuff going on now. I live in MD and work in the ER so we have seen a couple severe cases at my ER of enterovirus and at other hospitals in the area we have some possible Ebola exposures patients as well It's all SO scary.

In Colorado, we have cases that are paralyzing children and they don't know why. I am worried about it, but DS#2 is watched at home so the only person bringing in germs consistently is DS#1 from school and myself from work. I hope we manage to not get it.
