Pregnant after a Loss

Anyone else on injections?

Just wondering if anyone else is currently or on past pregnancies used blood thinner injections?  I am currently on a low dose blood thinner injection because of my previous history.  It basically means I shot in my belly every night, which is pretty painful!  It's only been a couple weeks of doing them so far and my stomach is already looking like a battlefield - bruising starting, needle poke spots.. I can't imagine what it's going to look like after several months of this!

I guess this is more of a rant  :/  Don't get me wrong I will do whatever it takes to keep this baby going, I never again want to have to look at my baby in my arms, when they can't look at me back and of course I could care less what my stomach looks like but it can get frustrating - can anyone out there relate?

Re: Anyone else on injections?

  • Ahh thanks, I'm going to check that out now!  I've been having my husband do them, then this past weekend he had to go away for work and I had to do them myself.  I managed but could use some tips for sure.

Does it get harder the larger your belly gets?  I know I'll always have some fat to squeeze to inject into but I can't picture what it will be like when my belly is huge - and yes I did ask the nurse if it was possible to poke the uterus that far along ha

  • Hello! Im just 5 weeks after 3 losses and this is the 1st time that Im in 40mg of Clexane injections per day. I also use Baby Aspirin, seeking health prenatals, fish oil, 300mg of progesterone per day.
My tummy is not that bruised yet.. Anyway I don't mind the bruising as long as dear baby is fine :)
  • I'm on Lovenox, nightly injections. I have no shortage of flab to grab ;) But it's much less painful on my lower stomach. The worst is just the mental aspect of giving myself the shot.

Best of luck! Just one more way to toughen us up for motherhood :)

Thanks for all the advice ladies!  It's been a couple weeks and they are definitely not as bad as those first few days but it should be interesting the farther along I (and we) get!
