Avoidance

DH is giving DS his first "real" haircut...I'm trying to pretend it's not happening. And yes, I asked him to do it.

DS has had trims and such before - I did the first one with no emotion at all - but for some reason this one is getting to me. Oh hai pregnancy.

No point to this other than to keep myself from running in there and calling it off halfway through.  :-)

Re: Avoidance

  • Hugs, we still haven't cut DS2's hair yet (although he probably could use it) - I just love the blonde baby curls!!!  I go through phases with DS1, we cut it, then usually grow it out for awhile because I love it long (ditto blonde curls).

It's soooo short.  He looks so much more like a little boy. Gah. Both DH and I have hair that grows at ridiculous rates so I'm hoping that it's gets a little bit of length back sooner rather than later.

I asked him to cut it because it kept getting tangled and matted, no matter how much it was washed (or not washed, as the case may be).  So at least I can be comforted by the fact that I won't be pulling snarls out of his head anymore.

Thanks for the encouragement and sympathy!

  • Hugs! Still no cut for DD and no plans any time soon

  • We just did the first haircut a few weeks ago. No curls for us, just not enough hair to make it worthwhile. But I'm glad we did get it cut when we did. Now that I look back at pictures, I notice how scruffy things are. And the haircut turned out really good. Hugs Mama!
  • DD has a major toddler mullet with a few curls in back.  It has become cold sooner than we thought, so she is wearing a bunch of boy hand-me-downs we got for DS.  Plus, she is really into hot wheels.  So she leaves the house with cars, in jeans, with a ratty t-shirt and an orange windbreaker, with wild hair.  Every single person refers to her as a boy and she must look pretty redneck...  And if we call her a girl first, everyone looks shocked and probably thinks we are terrible and wanted a boy.
  • DS had a mullet at about 3 weeks due to breakage in the back (which is amazing, because he slept in my arms pretty much constantly). I trimmed that sucker, and didn't think twice about it.

I've since trimmed his bangs a few times. I will probably legit cry when I end up cutting those beautiful, curly locks, though.
