First ear infection

On Wednesday, DD (17 months old) was diagnosed with her first ear infection and started amoxicillin. She is still having a rough time at night and cries a lot in her sleep. How long did it take your LOs to recover from an ear infection? 

I'm just concerned because we are flying on Thursday and I know how that can be awful on the ears.

    DS is 2 and was much younger when he had ear infections but he was usually sleeping better by the next night so 24- 48 hours.  Unfortunately DS had fluid in his ears between each infection so it never really got all of the way better for us.  

    Did you tell your Pedi you are flying this week?  Did he give any suggestions?
