Soaking through diapers ..... Overnight suggestions?

LO slept 8.5 hrs last night! Woooo hoooo! Thank you first time with real solid food! I'm pretty sure he slept on his belly all night and when he woke his while front side was soaked in pee. Did a whole outfit change at 4am. That's fun. And then he slept til 7, again on his belly I think, and had a wet spot again after 2.5 hrs. I use target brand regular diapers. He is in size two but could probably go to size three. Do you think it's just a size thing? Brand thing? Is it gonna leak no matter what if he is on his belly?

I would think regardless of size its going to leak after 8.5 hours.

My LO goes to bed at 6;30-7;30 pm . I change him at 1;30 and it is quite full , and again at 4;00 am . He wakes aroud 6;30-7 .

Occasionally he will skip the 1;30 wake up , he is always soaked through his diaper/clothes/ crib sheet.

I've seen diapers that are advertised as " overnight" diapers  but have never tried as my LO doesnt sleep that long.
I use Pampers Size 2 and my LO sleeps like  a starfish on his belly or side

  • My LO sleeps 12ish hours at night and I use Pampers Baby Dry at night. We haven't had problems with leaks or diaper rash
  • My LO sleeps 12 hours and we use the Costco brand diapers in size 3. It's always full in the morning, but it's rare that we have a leak. He's a back sleeper though, so I don't know if that makes a difference? I suggest going up a size at night.
  • We just started having this problem since LO is now a tummy sleeper. I'm going to try going up a size at night time. Hopefully it helps.
  • You can buy disposable diaper doublers to add absorbency. Even fold them in half so it's all up front.

  • We had the same problem with target brand. I try not to use those over night. DS is a belly sleeper too and sleeps 8-8.

  • We use Target size 3 with no problems over night. Go up a size at night - the NICU nurses told me if you have aeak it means it is time to move up a size. I have also had good luck with Luvs overnight they advertise 12 hours of leak guard.
  • I've used pampers baby dry in a size up and haven't had any issues. LO sleeps from 7:15-5:30
  • I use target diapers and when LO starts wetting through at night I size up. No problems after that!
  • I use target brand and Liam goes from 7pm - 6am (longer on weekends) without a change and no leaks... And he spends most of the night on his belly. If we started having leaks I would try a size larger.

  • LO sleeps 10-11 hours at night and is a tummy sleeper. We use pampers during the day but we use Huggies snugglers(?) at night and it helps cut down on the number of leaks. I'll switch to overnights by Huggies when he moves to a size 3. Hopefully, they work as great as they did(well, still do) for DS1.

  • LO sleeps on his side most of the night and we use pampers cruisers size3 which we are about to go to 4 because his poopie has been going all the way to his back, any who.... they might be too small for his already i think.... i don't change LO's diaper at all anymore because he wakes up and its hard to put him back to bed he goes down at 8pm and the only time i might change it if its really full, its at 4am when he takes a feeding.

maybe buy a small pack of the bigger size one and try it? i would also recommend the night time ones because they seem to hold way more than the regular ones

LO sleeps 12-13 hrs at night on his belly now. We use size 3 pampers baby dry extra protection. Super full in the morning but no leaks!

  • Target brand leaks often overnight for us, so we use pampers swaddlers overnight.
  • We use honest company diapers. She sleeps from 11pm to 9 am. No leaks. Her diaper weighs 5 pounds when we wake up though. Saggy butt :)
  • Huggies snug and dry. Haven't had a leak overnight yet. We are fixing to move from 2s to 3s as well.

  • We use cloth. Sloomb or imagine fitteds over night. DD2 sleeps 13hrs straight through most nights. No leaks. The Sloombs are expensive but worth their weight in gold.
  • First Move up a size if you still leak change the brand. I'm a fan of Huggies snug and dry myself.
  • Logan does size 3's during the day and size 4's at night (22lbs) because he sleeps almost 12 hours for his first stretch of sleep then another 2.  So he was leaking through the size 3's at night.  Size 4's end up weighing about  2lbs and the size of a watermelon in the morning haha, but no leaks!
