Favorite Book to Share with LO

I so hope my kid loves to read! I read to her all the time. I love getting her new books and I can't wait until she has a giant book collection! What are some of your favorite books that you can't wait to share with LO?

Some of mine are:
-The Classic American Girl Doll Books! (Felicity, Molly, Addy, etc.)
-Amelia Bedelia
-Amber Brown
-Nancy Drew

I know we are a long way from our LOs reading on their own, I have an Amazon Wislist to keep track of all the books I want to buy for LO. I am going to checkout some used bookstores too! I just ordered "We're Going On A Bear Hunt."

Re: Favorite Book to Share with LO

  • @SarahL2P‌ I had never heard of Shel Silverstein, but my husband LOVED his stuff as a kid. We bought a book filled with TONS of poems and I've been reading them to LO. I love them! They are so funny!

  • Amelia Bedelia and Fancy Nancy are always fun and silly. Love Brown Brown and The Very Hungry Caterpillar. LO has over 100 books already. Can anyone tell I'm a reading teacher? I get her a new one everytime I'm at the store.
  • We have alice in wonderland, grimericks, & a kids version of nightmare before Christmas.
  • Where the Wild Things Are- my fav!
  • I can't wait to read the Little House on the Prarie series with her! I've read them all at least 4 times :)
  • I loved all of the Little Golden Books when I was a kid. My favorite was called The Big Enough Helper and is about a little girl helping her mom do laundry. Random, I know. I can't wait to share those stories with LO.

"Oh Eli, there's a sanctity in your innocence. A certain beauty and no uncertain strength that brings me to the faith. I don't know if I am climbing to or falling in, but it comes like grace from your tiny hands when I hold you in mine." - Eli's Song

  • +1 for Mercer Mayer
I love Winnie the Pooh and all things Disney. I also love the classic Eric Carle Books, Dr Seuss and Robert Munsch picture books.

When we get to chapter books also loved reading Boxcar Children, Ramona Quimby, & Wilson Rawls.

I used to teach Elementary school so I have a great library of Caldecott / Newberry award books that I have been saving for when I had kids of my own. I can't wait to read them with my girsl!
