GTKY: Halloween Edition

I'm doing some house cleaning and getting some Halloween decorations out.  Made me think about when I was younger and how much I loved Halloween.  What about you guys?

1.  From 1-10 how much do you love Halloween?

2.  What was your favorite costume when you were little?

3.  As an adult?

4.  What candy did you love/hate getting?

5.  Do you roast pumpkin seeds?  What do you put on them?

6.  Favorite Halloween/Scary movie

7.  What are some of your special Halloween memories?

    1.  10!!

    2.  My mom made me a black cat costume once.  She sewed a long tail onto some black stretch pants and I had ears and this black sequined mask, long black nails and painted nose and whiskers.

    3.  I went as a garden once.  I wore all brown, and I glued little green leaves in rows on my shirt so it looked like plants sprouting up.  And I glued bugs all over.  I wore a straw garden hat, had a little scarecrow on one shoulder, and a crown on the other.  I wore garden gloves and rubber boots and carried around a flower pot and garden shovel.  I will have to find a picture of that!  That was a fun costume!

    4.  It wasn't candy, but my favorite house to go to always handed out cans of pop.  You wanted to make sure to get there early before they ran out!  But favorite candies were like snickers, reece's peanut butter cups.  Hated those little rolls of pink gum that were always so hard!

    5.  We usually do.  Either just simple salt, or season salt.  Sometimes a little garlic salt and chili powder.

    6.  When I was younger, my favorite Halloween movie was Ernest Scared Stupid!  Then there's the classic Hocus Pocus!

    7.  One year when I was little, it was so cold and there was a foot of snow on the ground.  My mom and aunt took us Trick or Treating and we were so cold and wanted to go home, but they kept telling us "One more house!  They have good stuff!"  

    I grew up in the country, so we never got trick or treaters at our house.  One year my parents bought a little house in town (not really sure why).  I was in high school, so sort of past the going trick or treating.  So my mom and I went all out and decorated the walk in porch as a haunted house.  It was so much fun decorating and scaring the bigger kids!

    From 1-10 how much do you love Halloween?10 one of my favorite holidays
    2.What was your favorite costume when you were little? I was a clown once. Now I'm afraid of them
    3. As an adult? My best friend and i made a 1800s style dress i wrote that and went as Elizabeth Bennett, then my friend had a pirate hat and i put that on and became Elizabeth swan
    4. What candy did you love/hate getting? Anything chocolate, i hate smarties
    5. Do you roast pumpkin seeds? No we did one year gross
    6. Favorite Halloween/Scary movie nightmare before Christmas. Mama was pretty good too i can't watch gory hacky movies so it's hard to find a good scary movie
    7. What are some of your special Halloween memories? Last year was DDs first Halloween, picking pumpkins with her was so fun. Carving pumpkins is one of my favorite parts

    Ugh I can't find any garden pictures!  I think I got rid of them since they were with my ex.  So instead, here is when DH and I went as Pimp and Ho!image

    2.  What was your favorite costume when you were little?
    I always dressed up like Madonna
    3.  As an adult?
    I hate dressing up now.  Im not creative enough to make my own costume and refuse to wear the store bought kind. 
    4.  What candy did you love/hate getting?
    Loved getting Butterfingers, Hated getting those Bottle Cap things and the shitty sugar candy in the rectangle box.
    5.  Do you roast pumpkin seeds?  What do you put on them?
    No, barf!  Real pumpkin stinks so bad.

    6.  Favorite Halloween/Scary movie
    The original Halloween, DUH! 
    7.  What are some of your special Halloween memories? There is a picture of me, my sister and my cousins standing on the porch getting ready to Trick Or Treat.  My sister didn't get to go because she was still young.  She had pissed herself and you can see her wet pants in the photo. Hilarious!

    2.  What was your favorite costume when you were little? I was in high school but I loved my Tinkerbell costume!

    3.  As an adult? Gypsy

    4.  What candy did you love/hate getting? Anything with Mint and chocolate combined or coconut.

    5.  Do you roast pumpkin seeds?  What do you put on them? We did when I was little. Just salt.

    6.  Favorite Halloween/Scary movie I Don't do scary movies

    7.  What are some of your special Halloween memories? I just love dressing up. There's not a ton of memories. In High school at my BFFs Halloween party, we'd smash pumpkins which was always fun. (they were bought with that purpose, we were not the local pains in the a$$)

    I love Halloween. It was always my moms favorite holiday so she helped us really enjoy it. So,...9.

    I'm not sure I had a favorite costume as a kid, but I totally had a guy friend who always came up with the funniest costumes, such as a vacuum cleaner and moms mystery meatloaf.

    As an adult, my favorite was Brittany spears, back in high school.

    I love getting anything that is chocolate. Hated anything similar to jelly beans.

    I still roast pumpkin seeds with just a touch of salt.

    Hocus pocus!!! Watched it every year with my mom and first year of college, had to buy it myself so I could watch it alone!!

    When I was 5 or 6 my BFF and I had planned this huge Halloween party with a scary maze (a bunch of refrigerator boxes decorated inside and attached like a tunnel). Sadly, I came down with chicken pox that year and had to cancel. Still had a small party though at my hous so my BFF would catch the pox.

    2.  What was your favorite costume when you were little?
    Not really sure. I guess maybe She-Ra.
    3.  As an adult?
    Not so much a costume but a look. Either Dia De Los Muertos or Victorian Gothic.
    4.  What candy did you love/hate getting?
    Love: Reese's. Hate: The candies in the orange and black wrappers.
    5.  Do you roast pumpkin seeds?  What do you put on them?
    Sadly, I have not done this yet. I keep meaning to. 
    6.  Favorite Halloween/Scary movie?
    The Shining
    7.  What are some of your special Halloween memories?
    Carving pumpkins, decorating, watching scary movies, listening to Halloween music soundtracks, going to haunted houses, etc.
