Clomid vs Femera

I was on Clomid for five cycles and had ovulation pain. This is my first cycle of Femera. Holy crap the pain is so much worse!! I can barely walk because the jostling hurts. I had a positive opk last night and this morning so at least it will be over soon. Dreading sex tonight!

    Ugh that sucks! It's supposed to be better for your lining though so hopefully it works for you! I didn't have that problem but I did have really bad headaches.

    Ouch. I'm supposed to be starting Femara next cycle, too. Hope the worst is over for you!

    I am sorry about the pain! I found the opposite on Femara (this was my first cycle). My 5 months I did Clomid I was in so much pain and was bloated the WHOLE month! 

    I hope it settles for you soon!


    Me: 32 DH: 34 Married 7/08 DD Born 8/09 
    TTC#2 Since 2/13 (Secondary IF)
    2/13 thru 2/14 - Year of charting, OPK and TI
    3/14 thru 7/14 - Clomid cycles, DH SA came back good
    8/14 - HSG and more blood work
    9/14 - Letrozole + trigger + IUI#1 = BFN
    10/14 - Letrozole + Bravelle + trigger + IUI#2 = BFP!! EDD 7/27/15

    Clomid makes me a ragey bitch, and femara was so much better....granted it gave me throat ulcers
      :(( I noticed I felt like I was gearing up to O earlier on Femara than Clomid. My lining was the thickest it's been in all my medicated cycles though this time! 

    IF meds make me so angry X(

    I didn't have the same experience with ovulation pain, but I did 5 iui's on chlomid and the first month on Femara got pregnant with my DS! Good luck!!

    Thanks for the responses! It did hurt but it's over with now. If (when) this cycle doesn't work, we're moving to IUI. So, as I crankily told dh a few days ago, we never have to have sex again.

    I've only done one cycle of each and I hated the femara. Ironically I asked my RE's office why we were switching if clomid seemed to do what it was supposed to and he said because most patients have more side effects with clomid. 

    I had such bad pain with the femara. I also found I was really thirsty all the time, headache and no sex drive (not a good side effect when you're trying to get knocked up!)

    DS #2: July 2015 (preemie born at 31 weeks) - our little miracle conceived through ART - unexplained secondary infertility/adenomyosis
