So many contractions, so little progress!

Labor was completely different with my first - I had occasional BH, but the first whole day with contractions was early labor and a baby 24 hours later. This time I've been gradually building up for weeks with more frequent contractions, and this whole weekend they've been every 20-30 minutes, clearly with no baby. I haven't had any other labor signs (lost MP, etc) so just waiting, timing, cleaning, trying to be patient… I'm in no rush for baby to arrive early but this is WAY more frustrating than just waiting! Ok, done whining

It might help you to stop timing and try to ignore things until it's un-ignorable. There are several of us on here who have been contracting for weeks. For me, the more I pay attention to it the more frustrating it is. Not much time left, no matter what!

Yep it sucks. I have been having contractions all day that I would call uncomfortable but not painful. It is awful. I am 38 weeks tomorrow and still hope to last til at least a few days before my due date...but this shit needs to stop.

This sounds like me. I have been having contractions for the last week or so and as of my appt on Friday, I am 3cm dilated and 90% effaced but no baby yet. I am okay with it, though, because I am hoping to make it to the 39 week mark. But the contractions can be a little annoying. I've been largely ignoring them this weekend and it has helped me.

Totally agree about not timing. It just makes you crazy. After weeks of them,
I've stopped keeping track. I assume at some point when it's real they will be un-ignorable.

I hear you! With my first I only had Braxton hicks. The first day I had contractions our daughter was born 21 hrs later. This time I've been having contractions since last Wednesday. I agree with everyone about not bothering to time them. I plan on just ignoring them until I can't ignore them. I think I'd go crazy if I focused on them enough to time them all the time. Here's to hoping at least the contractions are being productive for all of us!

I'm on the opposite side of the spectrum - so can't really comment. I'm 3 days late and aside from some tightening (which could be BHs) at times, no contractions. I have my 40 week drs appt today and fear I'm headed to induction....something I didn't want bc I really didn't want pitocin.....but you do what you must do....we shall see.
