Shut the front door! They did what?!

ugh. So tonight DH, LO, and I went to a memorial poker tournament/ reception for MH's cousin who passed away from juvenile diabetes. A lot of people there are family but majority are strangers. FIL was holding DD and this woman married to this gentelman he was talking to (an acquaintance) just grabbed my daughter from his hands to hold her!! I wasn't in the room when it happened but my SIL saw it. She came and got me and asked if I knew who she was. When I said I didn't my SIL went and took her from the woman. Which is good because I would've had some choice words to say. I was so pissed, not at FIL but at how some stranger thinks it's ok to do that!! Later on in the night I walked past the woman and she goes and tells everyone around her that my dd is HER snuggle baby. Um excuse me?!?!

My mind is blown!!

I think we should have a venting thread.

Short version: Random lady grabbed my baby out of FILs arms.

    So not cool! On the 4th of July we were hanging out with friends, just relaxing and waiting for fireworks to start. My bro-in-laws gf was holding DD and some lady I didn't know asked to hold her. I said sure but then the lady stsrted walking away with her so I went and got her back. She was watching DD the whole time after that. Mil was holding her at one point and the lady asked "is the baby leaving now?" She thought mil was leaving with her. So strange!

    DH and I were out to dinner last night with LO and some random lady got super nosy and all up in our business out of nowhere. She asked how well he was sleeping and I said that he usually slept pretty well, but the last few nights he's been a little restless. She started going on and on about how we have to "wrap him like an Indian" (?!) and give him cereal and lay him right next to us and then DH and I can have sex and we'll all sleep well. And she wouldn't stop. She just kept going on and on saying the same things, especially emphasizing that DH and I needed good sex. It was so weird and I learned my lesson; next time a stranger asks anything about how my baby is doing I will just say that everything is always perfect and we never have any problems. Luckily I was wearing baby, too, bc I was so afraid she was going to try to touch him!

    I feel like a do a good job wearing bitch face so people rarely engage with me in public. But last weekend I was at a garage sale and the woman selling came up to us to admire baby girl and then asked if she could hold her. I said no, and she wasn't offended. She talked about how much she wanted grandbabies but she was respectful of my decision. Then I bought stuff from her. I'm so glad it turned out okay. I am not comfortable with strangers holding my baby.
