Brazilian Blowout

I was getting these prior to becoming pregnant, and loved them. DD is now 11 months, and my hair is driving me crazy, it is so out of control. I know their website says do not use on women pregnant or nursing, since no studies have been done. Thoughts on this topic? I know it's totally selfish of me, but I'm dying to have decent hair again.

Re: Brazilian Blowout

  • My understanding is Brazilian blowouts aren't even really healthy or safe for anyone due to the chemicals they contain, so honestly I'd probably avoid it to be on the safe side. Ask your Dr if you're unsure.

  • Yea, I probably wouldn't do it. I colored my hair the whole time I was pregnant but personally I wouldn't be too comfortable doing a Brazilian blowout. They have fairly high levels of formaldehyde. Most salons don't have very good ventilation either. All the technicians at my salon stop offering them, as well as keratin treatments, when they are pregnant themselves.
