High-Risk Pregnancy

Lupus and pre-clampsia

Any moms out there that have Lupus and have had issues with pre-clampsia in the past? Or in general moms that had pre-clampsia?

I have been diagnosed with lupus and I know that I am at an increased risk if pre-clampsia and I am a little freaked out. I do like to hear the good and the bad. What has been everyone's experiences? Good outcomes? Bad outcomes? Trying to prepare myself. Thank you!

Re: Lupus and pre-clampsia

  • No lupus, but I currently have pre-eclampsia.  I'm on strict hospital bed rest right now (have been for weeks) and I'm 27.3 weeks.  Have had a few scares here and there, but so far they're keeping my LO in there and doing lots of monitoring, blood work and ultrasounds.  She's growing well and we're hoping she stays in until 37 weeks! (they will induce me at this point).

Just remember that "increased risk" doesn't necessarily mean you'll get it, so hopefully that will be you!

  • I was cleared of preeclampsia in the hospital last weekend. I am 22w2d today. There are several reasons I am higher risk to develop preeclampsia as well (twins, previous hypertension, AMA and IVF). It's been helpful to take days 1 at a time and not get ahead of myself. It's been so tough though.
  • Thanks ladies! I know I am just worrying too much. I have a previous miscarriage...and I am sure that is making my question everything.

So sorry you both have pre-clampsia. So scary. I wish you both the best and I hope that both your babies make it to 37 weeks and are healthy!!
