so, do you guys have any nicknames that maybe your DH or family or friends call you? Whether it be silly or because of something you've done in the past or any other option? What's the story behind it?
My best friends call me Savicci (Sah-vee-chee). After pirates of the Caribbean came out, I used to talk like captain jack sparrow quite a bit and said "savy" like he would. I'm also half italian and because of that, they put together "savy" and the Italian sounding "icci" and came up with "Savicci". So, basically, I'm an Italian pirate lol. It's weird but, that's just how my friends and I are.
Also, DW calls me "pumpernickel". We were joking about how ppl use food to describe someone they love like honey, or pumpkin or dumpling. So, one day she jokingly called me pumpernickel and it just stuck.
My family calls me cole because my middle name is nichole.
I have a group oF friends that calls me pink because my maiden name is Floyd.
Dh jokingly calls me songbird it birdie because I sing around the house constantly. I'm an awful singer and one night a group of friends was jokingly making fun of me because of how terrible I am at singing. Dh said no matter how terrible it is that it makeshim happy and started calling me songbird. It just stuck.
A long time ago my friend made a typo and my name came out Eriak instead of Erika and since then that whole group of friends (and one's mom and sister too) have called me that!
OH calls me Crumpet but only in writing, like birthday cards. It's a food from the UK and started as a joke. He calls me Little Bitch when spoken, it's a long story but it's not meant offensively.
My family call me Third (as in third of five, like the Borg) because everyone had a Star Trek name in our family. We're weird like that.
My dad calls me Jer and I don't know when/how/why he shortened my name to that. DH only calls me Jen or Jennifer, no nicknames from him. Some friends call me McJen as well (McLastname so they combined them). That's it, nothing cutesy or too original.
I had a little brother who couldn't say my name, Erika, so this is what came out. And my youngest brother who would just call me sissy. Today at age 20, he still calls me that.
In high school my crush/best friend called me Tigs, short for tig o'bitties (big o'tittes).. Lovely, huh?!
My friends when I was little called me Bwenie, mainly because that's what it sounded like when my little brother tried to say Brandi.
My family on my mom's side ALL has nicknames. It's like a right of passage to be given a name by my grandfather. I was initially "bright eyes" because they sparkled when I was a baby........but my mom gave me a perm when I was FIVE and I became "Poodle" and it never went away...and I have had poker straight hair since I was like 10 lol. But everyone has crazy names like "dingy", "short legs", "fuzz", "growler", "cruiser"..and need so on.
Poor DH wants a nickname so bad (esp since we've been together for almost 10 years) but my grandpa said he's "the all American guy" and can't be captured by one name..wth? Haha
college and high school friends call me Mac. it started in little league because I played 1st base and it was around the same time that Mark McGuire was popular and I have an Mc last name. It started as Big Mac, but got shortened by the time I hit high school. My teachers all called me Mac because there was another Brian in my class of 22, so it made it easier for everyone. My younger brother (2 years) was called Mike Mac all through school.
also, turns out it runs in the family. My uncles were called Mic and Mac to make it easier to identify them from classmates and each other 30 years prior.
there are two motivations in sports, which is yours?
DH calls me sweetie. Most of my family calls me Kori which is just short for my name, Korina.
In college, my roommates and I would refer to my drunk alter ego as Guadalupe.
Since I was a kid, I've always gotten really tan and dark when out in the sun, so my dad has called me "negrita". It means little black girl in Spanish.
My dad has always called me "ojos de caballo" it means horse eyes. DH calls me "mugres" which means dirty. He's a chef and comes home smelling like Italian food everyday, so he insists on 2-3 showers a day. He calls me dirty because I Only shower once per day. Now he calls DS1 mugres as well and its confusing at times.
DH calls me Peaches or Peach Bundles. Honestly I don't remember how it got started... I call him bear. Cause I love to cuddle with him like a big teddy bear.
My mom calls me Baby Girl. Cause...I'm her baby girl. But now she calls DD that too. So that's kinda confusing.
My dad calls me wild thing. Like the song. Not sure why. But ever since I was little. Now whenever we are somewhere there is a dj someone in my family will request that song!
Dad calls me Stella, short for "Cinderella" since I was the oldest of three and the other two weren't adopted, and I was the child who didn't sneak out and did what was told lol. hubby calls me Bibbies, no idea why or how that came up. My full name is larissa, so everyone else just calls me. Rissa. Grampa used to call me "girl I love".
DH calls me babe or love but when we first met he called me Trouble because he said all girls were trouble lol.
My dad and my best friend call me Jenny.
When my brother was little he couldn't say Jennifer so he called me Fafa.
Everyone else just calls me Jen.

SIL calls me Aliscia. (My first name is Alicia [pronounced A-leash-a] and it's misspelled on my birth certificate. So she says A-lis-key-a.)
A lot of people shorten my name to say Leash. Like "hey, leash...can you come here?"
A few friends from HS call me AJ. (Maiden name starts with a J)
