Moving from highchair to booster seat

At what age did you ladies move your LO from a highchair to a booster? DD is 14 months now and still starts out in her highchair for meals, but lately she takes a few bites, then says, "Up up up!" and wants to finish her food at the table with us. Think it's about time to try a booster seat, but wanted to get a few opinions first.

Around 18 months when we had to live in temporary housing where we didn't have room for the high chair. I intended to go back to the high chair once we moved into our new house, but he seemed to l like the switch.

DD was almost 2 when we switched but DS was around 16 mos.  Although we had our highchair right at the table with us anyway the booster seats are nicer because they take up less room.  And no more cleaning that tray!

We never had a high chair. We had one of those chairs that straps onto the dining chair and reclines. It has been at the full recline for quite a while, and we switch from the tray to just sitting him at the table depending on the situation. He prefers to sit at the table, and he's been sitting at the table a little bit since he was about 15 or 16 months, I guess.

Okay, so it sounds like we might be ready for a chair at the table. Thanks for the advice, ladies.

I wanted to keep DS in his highchair forever! We have the IKEA antilop and it was so easy to clean and so secure.  But around 18-19m DS started fighting us when we put him in his highchair, throwing tantrums etc, so we switched to the booster chair.

With the booster chair, he is always twisting his body side to side or forward, or pushing with his legs trying to 'rock' the booster chair.  We are always worry that he'll break the chair or the straps will not hold and he'll fall out.
