Shooting pains in urethra post delivery??

Weird question but for anyone who has delivered have you experienced the sensation of stabby/shooting pains in what feels like your urethra? I gave birth 2 days ago and had an epidural and catheter. Do you think the catheter damaged something? It's hurts the worst when trying to sit up out of bed...and aggravated by breastfeeding (contracting of uterus)...just curious if anyone else going through this. Thanks!

    Are you able to urinate? I had to have another cath the day after delivery because I couldn't urinate. It apparently isn't uncommon. Talk to your OB. I ended up with a horrible UTI Last time around and was miserable.

    I went to an immediate care center this morning for this.  I think it's just a UTI but I got some antibiotics to help.  It's pretty bad but very common after giving birth.

    Well, I can urinate and it doesn't seem like a UTI. Had one years and years ago and I remember that it was just a bunch of unproductive, short attempts at peeing that stung like hell. If it doesn't go away I'll call the dr on Monday. Just curious if it was kind of 'standard' with catheters.. Thanks!
