no I'm not gonna judge someone just solely based on smoking. However smoking while pg....smoking in front of kids or in the house yeah I will judge that.
I'm a former smoker and yes I still want that damn cigarette. I never ever smoke when pg and I never ever smoked in front of my kids or in my house.

My favorite verse!
I don't think you can totally judge a person on whether or not the smoke. My brother smokes and I trust his judgment. I know "why" he smokes or better yet "why" he started smoking so that may have something to do with it and the fact that he's my brother.
In some circumstances though, I am quite judgemental about it. Like when parents smoke in their cars with their children in the backseat. To me, that is unforgivable.
Well, Obama is a smoker and I trust his judgment. I don't think that the fact that someone smokes means that they are not trustworthy or smart. And I say this as someone who voted for McCain and worked in cancer prevention for years. ;-)
To add, smoking is an addiction. So just because we know more about it now doesn't mean that people who do smoke are just going to stop immediately. My brother wants to quit and has tried numerous time, using different patches, pills and programs. However, he has a lot of stress in his life and is just having a hard time with it. He knows the consequences and health risks.
I wouldn't trust the judgment of someone who started smoking now, however someone who has been a smoker and hasn't quit I wouldn't because I have been there and know how hard it is.
i'm totally judgmental of someone who smokes in front of their children or pg, but i can refrain from judging who smokes as long as they do so in a way that limits other people's exposure. people do all sorts of things that are bad for their bodies and i understand that nicotine is highly addictive.
I just said the other day to DH "I can't believe there are people who smoke these days" I don't get it. But my favorite aunt smokes, even after my grandpa having lung cancer and she is a nurse. I just can't understand the lapse in judgement, but I guess it can be a very strong addiction.
But to answer your question, I don't really not trust the judgement of people who smoke. I do wonder how they can possibly do it with all the information out there today.
