Started IVF #1: ~BFP Mentioned~
ER (Thursday April 17th, 3 precious eggs).
April 18th: Received news 2 out of 3 eggs fertilized!
Planned 3dt: Easter day, transferred two 8B embryos and received pictures
Aw, the positive reveal made me tear up. I do sometimes wish we took more pictures of our process just to look back more. We just have them from the transfer.
But I do have to say...she got a bit dramatic about the shots. She didn't even have to do a booty shot!
Me 33, DH 37 -- TTC since Jan'12 -- Low AMH (0.78) & endo, SA w/ low motility IUI's 1-3 = BFN, IVF converted to IUI 4/13 = BFN IVF 1.2: 8R 6M 4F -- 2 blastocysts frozen, FET 8/15 = BFP!! Beta #s = 445;1,098; 9,545 -- EDD 5/2 -- Team Pink!
I have terrible IF brain. I got all teary eye when they opened the envelope too... but most of the time I was thinking, "OMG, they took all these pics and documented everything - what if it had ended in a BFN or CP!"
Also, I would be so scared to have quadruplets - so high risk. I hope mama and babies all make it through healthy and happy.
See.?!.. crazy, black cloud, IF brain. Can't shake it.
We actually documented a lot of our journey including pictures of shot needles, before and after egg retrieval, hooked up to the IV and everything. Going to put them in my baby book for my baby as part of their story. Yeah, I have a blog with all my pictures and had family and friends following every move, would have been really hard it was negative, but for us, we knew we would have had amazing support either way.
We didn't take any pictures of me getting my subq shots because I was in tears during & afterward. I think my face might have been worse than hers! Mine wasn't because of size of needle, but my medication burned like a motherf****. I was also allergic to my lupron and broke out in hives after on top of that. PIO was better than my subq. I had anxiety about my subq every night.
Crazy, that both split, article said that was a 1 in 70 million chance that they ended up with quads after only putting back 2 embryos.

With the quad reveal I seriously thought it might be a joke. CRAZY. I had to google the family to be sure. I actually appreciated her face during the needle pics. True, they don't hurt much, but I HATE needles, and I liked that her face and bruises gave you a visceral feeling of the human pincushion stage of IVF. If I ever do share that we did it (2.5 times!), having videos like this to share could help people get a better understanding of what it's like.
For those who mentioned that she must not have been doing PIO, doesn't this make you wonder why she didn't photograph the suppositories! )

Please, PLEASE stick this time!!!!
I missed the stats @dp21 - that's crazy! We have friends who have 2 sets of identical twin girls about 2 years apart (absolutely no IF issues for them - I've always coveted her ovaries). I wonder if the probability of getting the family they have is similar.
@pblge Maybe she did PIO and didn't want her a** all over youtube! lol I don't think I'd put my butt in a video to share with others :P Either way, PIO or suppositories would be edited out! haha

@pblge I saw a picture of the suppositories in her big med box (which is also why I figure maybe she didn't do PIO)...but luckily that's as far as it got.
I'm sure she was doing the dramatic faces for the shots to add some comedy to the pic. The shots are nerve-wracking at first...if we took pictures, you'd see my DH doing a shot of whiskey before he did the HCG shot on me.

Ok that got me all weepy. I am so happy for them. The odds of that happening are crazy.
@AMShark My first thought was also how high risk that is. We transferred two as well, and I hope none of them split. If we have twins it would be crazy but ok. More than that would be cause for serious concern. Also, you're right about all the pictures. I am happy that it all worked out for them and I think it will make a very touching addition to their baby books, but I would seriously regret it if it had turned out to be a BFN.
Me: 34, PCD (defective cilia in fallopian tubes), borderline thyroid
Oh jeez I'm sitting here crying! @gsancho he really did a shot before PIO? That's funny MH was totally trashed one night and I was so freaking nervous that he would somehow hurt me when doing the shot lol.
I also wished I documented or taken more pics in the beginning. I went straight to donor eggs so I never had to endure the retrievals like you ladies have. Not sure I would of been strong enough to do what you did and some many many times.
