So, here's my story...

Last Wednesday, I had brown spotting, just once, so my midwife ordered bloodwork. My hCG was 2,225, which was low for 7w1d, but she said not to worry until they redraw on Monday. In the meantime, I had bright pink spotting on Saturday, but again, just once. On Monday, she called with the results of my hCG: 931. She informed me that I'm in the process of miscarrying and I was completely devastated. She sent in a weekly order for bloodwork until I "zero-out."

Well, she called today with my results: 1,093. So, now she thinks it's an ectopic pregnancy. I have an ultrasound tomorrow at 1pm to figure out what's up. But I'm freaking out. I've been crying for four days, I can't sleep, I can't eat. I'm not even sure why I'm typing all of this out, other than for the sole purpose of typing it out. If this is an ectopic pregnancy, do you know what I can expect to happen? Any experience with this at all? Thanks in advance, and all the hugs to you as well.

I am so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine how much worse this uncertainty must make everything. I do not have any experience with ectopics myself, but I have known folks who have. They are nothing to mess around with, but something that can be dealt with. I am glad you have an ultrasound scheduled soon to get it all worked out. Hi there. I'm so sorry you are going through this. I was 6w 2d when I started to miscarry on Sunday. My hcg levels are coming down incredibly slow and I had some weird pain that woke me up last night, so my Dr ordered an u/s today to rule out ectopic. She said if it's caught early enough it can usually be treated with meds as opposed to surgery. Luckily one wasn't found. I hope the same for you. Good luck and again so sorry. Hugs.

Your story sounds VERY similar to what I went through a year ago. In my case they never saw anything on the U/s, since they could not confirm the pregnancy was not ectopic I was given methotrexate. My HCG was 0 in about 4 weeks.

So, I have a yolk sac and tiny little nugget in the bottom of my uterus with no heartbeat. It looks like things are progressing downward, so hopefully my body will take care of itself. Good thing is, it's not in the tube, so it's not ectopic. Still don't know why my levels are all over the place, but I'm doing lab work weekly to make sure it's going down. My midwife offered a D&C, but I've decided to wait until Monday to decide.

The tech gave me a sonogram, but I'm not sure if I'm glad I took it or not. Maybe one day, I will be.
