It's a little late but I know a lot of people said that they would still be interested in doing something for October. I don't think there will be a specific challenge. We can do a challenge if someone thinks of something specific that other people want to do or we can just continue last month's theme.
Does anyone have any financial goals for this month? If so how do you plan on meeting them? What areas do you feel like you're strong in financial wise? What are your weak spots? My strength is saving money around the house. I spend a lot of extra time doing things like meal planning, or crafting which helps us save a lot. My weakness is impulse shopping. I'm trying to combat that by staying out of stores unless I need something and keeping my wallet in an inconvenient spot when I'm at home.
We don't have a specific goal this month. We're renting out part of our land to hunters for a couple of weekends. Instead of spending anything we're going to put all of our money into savings and our emergency fund. We're trying to avoid spending any extra money we get so we can cement the habit of putting money into savings first. We can be pretty bad about that sometimes. Okay I can be pretty bad about that. DH always remembers. His first reaction is to do responsible adult stuff. I usually buy shit off of Amazon and feel bad about it later.
Re: October Budgeting/Savings
Our financial strong points are we have no credit card debt have learned from our mistakes when we were younger and only buy what we can afford. Our weakness is after our income has grown we find more things to spend it on and I would like to take it back to the basics.
