Low amniotic fluid

Hi mamas! Went to the doctor for our anatomy scan (17 wks) and baby looks good, not very cooperative but what they could see she looked good. Shes measuring a tad small but she wasn't so worried about that. During the scan they found that I had low fluid. Im a mom of 2 (2 and a 5 yr old) so I'm always busy. She wants me to rest, (put my feet up), drink lots of water and eat carbs. And they are checking her again on Friday. Anyone have any experience with this? Any advice or stories appreciated. Thank you!

Re: Low amniotic fluid

  • Also I have really bad nausea and night nausea and throw up through the night. I'm on zofran and she recommended that I take of before bed as not to throw up all my liquids at night.

  • I had borderline low fluid at the end of my last pregnancy (when they found out he was breech). Assuming it's simply a matter of intake, vs a different issue causing low fluid, I absolutely had success with resting and drinking a ton of water, gatorade, etc. I was peeing my brains out but at the recheck my fluid was well into the normal range.

Go to the grocery store and stock up on whatever hydrating thing you like to drink and try to rest as much as you can. Good luck!

  • Thank you ladies! It means the world to me. I've had the panorama and tested for genetic issues so I'm hoping this is just a hydration and rest issue. Thank you for taking the time to respond! Xo
