I want to ask a question for S+TM, regardless of your baby's sex (because I know that's an old wives tale and it doesn't matter), is your bump/are you carrying different from your first? With my first, I was all baby in the front. With this one, I feel sooo wide. I know it's probably due to the fact that my muscles aren't as tight and my "love handles" never really went away. I was just curious.

I look pretty much the same every time. I carry all in front. Everyone tells me that I'm carrying a boy (but they've all been girls).

With DS, I carried high and the bump looked like a basketball under my shirt. I was much larger by this point with him.

With this one, DD, everything is much lower and I'm much smaller than last time.

My starting weight and build was the same for both pregnancies.

I always carry the same whether its a girl or a boy. This go round its exactly the same only larger than it was at this point previous pregnancies.

I look the same just MUCH bigger than I was at 21 weeks last time, I look right now like I did around 28 or 30 weeks with DS.

Some lady stopped me in the airport last week to inform me "Look at the bump, you are having a BOY!", when I politiely told her "No, it is a girl" she seemed a little put out.

I feel larger too, but that's probably for the same reasons I mentioned in the poll. I feel when I sit down, my bump turns into a blop and migrates east and west.

This is me -- while my bump shape is probably the same, the size compared to the same time in my first pregnancy is CRAZY different. I've looked like I was first-pregnancy-26-weeks when I was 16 weeks this time, and it's just gone from there.

Also, thank goodness I work from home this time, so I'm insulated against a lot of comments, but with my first, I managed guest services at an art gallery, so I had to be nice and mature with people (fuuuuun challenge when heavily pregnant.), including the older Asian woman (I'm also Asian, which I mention because I think she was more likely to say this crap to me) who literally took two steps into the gallery, pointed at my belly, and yelled, "BOY! BOY! BOY!"

...which is sorta terrifying, btw.

When I managed to put a smile on my face and say, "well, actually, it's a girl in there!" she just sniffed at me and walked away. So that's awesome.

The only difference is that my hips are widening out (again) even though they never shrunk back down. I'm going to look so oddly disproportionate when I'm done having kids. Both times my bump has been straight out in front. Everyone's favorite thing to say is that I don't look pregnant from the back.

My boobs are much bigger, too. With #1 they didn't really grow until my milk came in 3 days pp, and stayed large until I weaned at 13 months. I am up at least a cup and a half already; I am going to own bras in every size.

But yeah, bump is bigger earlier, and still low and in the front, just like with #1.

The old wives tail has held true in my case! With DD my bump was much higher and very defined, this little boy is sitting low and spread out over my hips.

Also, my boobs...I don't even know what to do at this point. I was a 36DD before any pregnancies, a 36FF after my daughter and now I'm popping out of those bras. When my milk comes in I'm going to cry.

I was opposite of you, with DS, I was all baby. A bump like a basketball. With this one, DD, I am sooo wide. Hip and thighs for days.

I feel ike my bump is the same shape and size. Just growing faster this time. At 21 weeks now, I look like I did when DS at 25 weeks.

Hard to compare since my first pregnancy was a twins one...this one I look like I'm carrying around a basketball in front. Girls for both pregnancies, so I wonder if my bump would look different if I was having a boy this time.

I'm carrying twins, but my bump is pretty much shaped the same as my first pregnancy, just bigger. I got measured yesterday and I'm measuring 5 weeks ahead. But it doesn't feel any different other than the extra body in there moving around, my stomach is a playground!

I think I'm carrying about the same. It's hard to tell because I'm not as big as I was last time. Pre-preg weight was slightly higher this time, but with my first I lost 13 pounds the first tri and gained it all back second tri. This time I lost 20 pounds during first tri and still haven't gained it all back (22 weeks).

I voted completely different but maybe I picked the wrong thing. This is my 3'rd pregnancy and I am carrying the same way I did with DD2, which was very different from how I carried DD1. With DD1 I carried high and my bump was perfectly round (think like a basket ball, from the side). I got kicked in the ribs more times than I could count. With DD2 I carried a bit lower (never got it in the ribs but my cervix took a beating in third tri) but my bump looked less circular (think like a capital D from the side). I have never really gotten wide or gained through the hips but I naturally have pretty narrow hips so I think that's just my body type. So far, this pregnancy is looking a lot like DD2 but it's still early and I'm still not very big. I can definitely hide it if I want to.

I feel your pain on the boob situation! I was a 32DDD pre-pregnancy and haven't bought any new bras yet. Last night when DH came home we were talking in the kitchen and he asks "um, are they filling up with milk already" as he looks at my boobs. I looked down and they are literally overflowing. Sigh. I guess it's time to go shopping.

My bump shape is pretty much the same - I carried DS all up front and this one is pretty much the same, just bigger sooner. I didn't feel like I was that much bigger, but I compared my pics and at 22 weeks I'm about the size I was around 26 weeks with DS.

I started out at close to the same weight, but I haven't been as disciplined about my eating this time around (partially because I was SO much more tired during 1st tri and early 2nd tri so we had a decent amount of takeout) so I gained quicker and showed earlier this time.

My bumps definitely look the same. It's just like a basketball under my shirt with both. With DD she sat higher and he is so freaking low it is unnecessarily uncomfortable a lot of times. I started showing sooner and wearing maternity sooner with him but they're pretty even now when I look at DD's bump pics.

I've gained a lot less weight but am SO much bigger, so much faster. I started out almost exactly the same. Both girls. At this point with DD I was barely showing- mostly looked fat - and hadn't told my job. I'm starting to feel terrified at how big I will end up! My bump is huge! They said she's measuring extremely long so there's some small consolation. They also told me DD would be 8lbs and she was a teeny tiny 6....can't say I fully believe them this time.

I'm SO happy I'm all up front again and so is DH! I do feel like I'm carrying really low this time, my back hurts worse and I'm showing sooner. I know showing sooner is normal, though.
