Cloth Diapering

Best diaper for long and skinny lady?

Title pretty much says it all - I'm looking for opinions from other parents of LOs that are long and skinny. I have a few Blueberry Simplex AIOs and I love those (this was surprising - I thought I was going to really like my workhorses and prefolds and I do - but they can be really bulky on her skinny self). Was thinking of getting some Kawaii P & N or Baby Bamboo? Open to any and all suggesting for trim fitting options! TIA!

Re: Best diaper for long and skinny lady?

  • How old is she? My son peed too much to use the larger newborn diapers when he was older.

BumGenius 4.0s were the first one size diaper to fit his skinny legs. Flips and Econobum covers also fit him well, and they still do.

I stuff with cheap Alva bamboo inserts, since they are so trim.

  • I've used Green Acre Diapers medium long pockets on both my long and skinny DD and actually got them from a friend who's daughter used them she was also long and skinny.  I nannied for her when she was 1 and they were my faves for her.  THey are side snap and tend to stay up better.

  • @doele04, she's 6 weeks tomorrow and probably right at 10lbs and 23 1/4 inches long :)

  • We're a fan of Simplex over here too. Other AIOs that we like right now are Grovia AIO and Totsbots Easyfit v4.

For pockets, Thirsties and Oh Katys worked for us before BG 4.0s did. DS just took forever to chunk up, and the wide front tab of the BG's practically wrapped around to his back. I never really liked that.
  • My DD is long and skinny and we've had luck with BG. They make up most of our stash. Other than that I use blueberry and RaR covers with prefolds.

  • Nobody else here seems to be a fan but I use gdiapers with my long skinny girl and I love them. They are working really well for us.
