Does the nausea ever end???

:(( has anyone gotten past the nausea yet? 8w1d and it's driving me nuts. I'm completely useless pretty much all day. I had heard about morning sickness, but never imagined this was the reality of it.

Is anyone else getting super tired and frustrated with it?

  • Good news is, even if you have hyperemesis, it will end once the baby is born. Usually it ends in the 2nd tri though.

  • @GFJ48 my doctor recommended B6 and I was taking in the morning and it just made me feel more nauseous.  I think i will start taking it at night now instead.

  • Not yet, but I’m okay with that. It just reassures me the baby is growing. I had m/s when I was pg with my DD until 23 weeks, so I am not expecting this to end any time soon.

    My suggestions:

    -          Ginger snap cookies

    -          Preggie Drops

    -          Ginger tea

  • Are preggie pops only at baby stores? Or can you get them anywhere else? I'll try anything.

Some people say they are at maternity stores. I ordered mine off Amazon.
  • Thank you! I think I can manage to order something on the internet while not moving from my couch. :)
  • I'm on my 3rd day of Diclegis, and it seems to be helping. But it has also kept me completely exhausted. Still, I'd take exhausted over puking any day.

    BFP #4: 9-13-2014, MMC discovered 10-27-14 at 10w, d&c on 11-6-14

  • With my first two I was nauseous from weeks 5-9. I'm really hoping it ends at 9 this time too, because this is the worst :(

Also, I found Preggie Pops to be no different than other sour candy, like Jolly Ranchers, just way more expensive. So that's what I've been sucking on now. That and tea with dried pineapple steeped in it. I'll have to make some ginger tea next.

  • This week is the first time since week 6 that it's a little easier.  As you can see, though, everyone's different.  I'm still pretty nauseous in the late afternoon and evening, but I'm more productive in the morning and can stomach a decent lunch.  When I was really bad, the Unisom would help me sleep a little at night and I'd wake up nausea free.  But I would only have about 2 hours before it was all day misery.  Those first two hours in the morning were like a race to see how much I could get done.

  • Just made my first trip to babies r us. Bought preggie pop drops, organic morning wellness tea, psi bands, yum a roos, and belly bar boost. They must love women that come in with ms!
  • today as a whole I have felt a little better (which is making me slightly neurotic) but it is always worse in the afternoon, and I ate a decent breakfast this morning so I'm hoping that is why I feel a bit better

@GFJ48‌ p‌. try the b6 and unisom combo. I first started off with 50mg of b6 at night and am and it too made me more sick. Did the unisom at night w b6 twice a day woke up to no nausea. It still comes back a little bit when hungry but its not too bad and is tollerable. gl….

Ps unisom is a sleep aid, I was so confused when my dr said to do the combo then all I was finding were sleep aids.lol

  • This nausia is taking over my life, and my mom was laughing about it last night saying I'll be lucky if I'm not like her... She was sick everyday with both my sister and me until we were born
  • With my DD it lasted until 3rd tri :( ! Hoping that is not the case again with this prgenancy!

  • My MS started at 6 weeks on the dot. I'm now 8w3d. The only day I haven't had it was this week Wednesday when I also had some spotting and was SUPER worried that I was miscarrying. DH thinks the nausea went away temporarily because I was so stressed about losing the baby that I didn't have time to think about it.

But it's back in full force (and we saw a healthy heartbeat on an ultrasound on Thursday). My doctor gave me a prescription for Diclectin which I am trying to hold off filling. I've only thrown up about 3 times so I don't want to fill the prescription unless the vomiting gets worse. I've heard the meds can make you extra fatigued - and I'm already barely functional at work as it is right now.

My mom was sick the entire 9 months with me - so I won't be surprised if I go through the same thing. I'm looking forward to first trimester being over though so I can at least tell people at work. Hopefully they'll have a bit more pity on me and understand why I'm being so useless...
  • I'll be 10 wks tomorrow and I've had steady nausea. Appetite is terrible. I'm worried I'm not eating healthy enough or enough at all really. But I just keep taking my prenatals hoping to fill the nutrition gap for now.
Anyone else eating/drinking way less than usual? I've been getting lightheaded spells this past week.
  • Yup! Thats been my life for two weeks now and im only 6w3d :( i sure hope it gets better...
  • B6 and unisom? Any special doses/types? I don't have MS this pregnancy yet and it was mild last time but I'd much rather take this than have to have Zofran prescribed in case things get bad. This is something new to me- good to know!

  • I just did it for the first time, and it worked for me! Finally relief!

    From physician:
Pyridoxine (vitamin b6) 25 mg tablets - take 1 tablet every 6 to 8 hours.
Doxylamine (Unisom sleep tablets, but I got the generic) - take 1/2 tablet at bedtime; can increase to twice daily if needed; it will cause drowsiness.

I'm drowsy, but I can fight the drowsiness to finally do some work and eat something healthy/substantial!

Good luck to OP and anyone else dealing with nausea! :)

  • With my first it lasted from 6-13 weeks. With my second it lasted 6-18 weeks. This time it started at 6 weeks and I got a prescription for Zofran this week. I was not functioning like...at all. I feel a million times better. If you are miserable, call for the Zofran. I wish I had asked for it with my other pregnancies.
