A nosebleed woke me up, AGAIN. We've had the windows open for a week now with plenty of fresh air moving through the room so I have no clue what's going on. This is the second time in a month its happened.
Oh and H felt the baby last night!! I switched positions in bed pretty quickly and I guess annoyed little man so he started squirming and kicking my belly button. I grabbed H hand so fast I almost ripped it off and placed it on my belly button, sure enough he felt two little thumps right below it. I can't believe he felt it so early but it was definitely the baby. He was so excited and couldn't believe there's a human in my belly. Love these first moments!!
@jcar2 I can't wait until you have your rainbow baby :x
AFM, I had lots of CM last night. Lots. Enough that I went to the bathroom twice in 2 minutes to check for blood. There wasn't any but it induced nightmares all night. I listened to the baby's heartbeat first thing this morning so I'm feeling much better now. But damn last night sucked, I'm glad I'll be the only one home tonight so I can stream Gilmore Girls all night and do nothing on my couch.
Also, S bought this 7 week pass to Olive Garden. It's 7 weeks of all you can eat pasta, soup/salad, breadsticks, and drinks. It was only $100 so a great deal! But...it's bulking season so he's going to OG every day to carb it up. He permanently smells like Olive Garden now. It's kind of gross.
@chaysefaith I had the same problem a couple days ago, nightmares and all. I don't have a home Doppler, so thankfully my 16 week appointment correlated well with this and I got to be reassured within a couple of days. It is one of the scariest feelings, though.
@agm0616 That bothers me, too, but not as much as when people speak like that IRL. "He got me a onion" Well, he needed to get you a 5th grade English class.
@chaysefaith My H wanted to get that, but I told him after seven straight weeks of Olive Garden, he would probably hate it. I'll be interested to see how he feels about Olive Garden by the end of week 7.
As for me, today is the day before another high holiday, so I'm off from school. To make the day even better, a coworker is giving me a leather reclining couch for free! We had a crappy fouton from Target as a second couch, so this is going to be MUCH better. With a baby coming and us living 1,500 miles away from family, we know we're going to have MANY weekend/week visitors once the baby is born. The new couch is a huge relief so people have places to sit. I shall adapt one of the best movie quotes to explain my excitement: "THERE IS SO MUCH MORE SEATING FOR ACTIVITIES!"
@chaysefaith im glad you're feeling better now, sorry you went through that. And im so glad my husband has never heard of the 7 weeks pass, he's always begging me to go. That is a really awesome deal though! And now im craving a juicy house salad, ha.
Hi all! @Janda426 congrats about having your DH feel your baby move! Mine wants to soo badly, but no luck so far.
I had my a16 week appointment yesterday, and I was hoping to get a u/s because of my bleeding, but no dice. They said since it's not constant, and I checked out OK last time, on top of a good Doppler HB, they didn't feel the need to do it. *pout*. The good news is that I scheduled my anatomy scan! Can't wait till the 23rd.
I am going to try to eat and drink a little more throughout the day today to see if it makes me feel better. Yesterday at work almost all day I felt faint and nauseated. I kept having to stop what I was doing and sit down with my head between my legs, which is hard to do now that my belly is getting bigger -_-.
My great danes surgery last night went well but the vet just called and said her numbers are.dropping and shes showing signs of a bad infection. Idk if im going to go to work, I'd rather go try to see her.
@janda426 The title of the thread was comforting, so thanks for that. I need to remember to relax!
@ruemorgan So sorry to hear about your dog's infection. Hope you hear some good news soon. My dogs have always been a part of the family, so I know how hard that can be.
ruemorgan sending you all my positive thoughts for your puppies recovery.
I just finished season 4 of the Walking Dead, when we saw they were still in the prison we stopped watching last year but friends convinced us to watch it. OMG! I am so psyched about it coming back next Sunday!
Happy it's Friday, but I'm annoyed because my Dr's office just called and they accidentally threw away my urine sample and I have to go back and give another one at lunch. Oh well. Have a happy Friday everyone!!
@Darbie914 you really need to do a date night and get it scheduled and in a routine before the baby. It saved my marriage.
Agreed! My husband and I have been setting aside $20 every paycheck and made a pact to go on a date night at least once a month. You need to give each other that time, itll help your relationship and benefit your child as well. Happy parents, happy baby.
I am so excited to go camping this weekend, that I woke up at 5am and could not go back to sleep. We are having a heat wave and it is supposed to be hot as hell this weekend. My house does not have AC, because we live on the coast. I thought about starting my list of things to accomplish before we leave, but I decided to grab coffee and hang out here with you guys for a bit instead. Happy Friday!
@totesmcgotes congrats on selling! That's so exciting!! My sister's has been on the market for a month. FX for her!
@chilibeansm0m ugh nosebleeds are not fun. Hopefully that was the last one.
@ruemorgan I really hope the infection doesn't become serious. T&P for your pup.
I had a slew of crazy dreams last night. One that I remember vividly and it scared the crap out if me. I dreamt that I was helpless as I watched my one year old baby girl run into the street and get hit by a car. So so traumatic! I have no idea why I would have dreamt this, I didn't see it on TV, I will be a FTM with this baby in my belly, and I don't even know the sex yet. All I can say is that it was horrible. Hopefully I will never have to go through that IRL.
@ruemorgan I hope your Dane heals quickly! We have 2 Great Danes, they are amazing pets!
We have a wedding this evening and I'm kind of dreading getting dressed up. My maternity dresses are too big and my normal dresses don't look right. Humph!
@Lark425 omg! That is an intense dream. Hopefully bad dreams dont become a regular thing for you. As soon as I started taking unisom to help me sleep, I stopped dreaming, or remembering my dreams I guess.
I have a girls weekend in ATL planned this weekend with some moms from my July12 BMB. I am super excited, but it will be the first time MH has watched our son for more than a few hours and I am nervous! MH is a great dad and I know he will be safe and whatnot, but I am nervous that MH will lose his mind. LOL. He is not the most patient person in the world with DS (as terrible as that sounds) and can't handle it when DS has a tantrum (he's 2. He has lots). I know moms deserve a break sometimes and all, but I can't help but worry. He will have him alone from like 5am Saturday morning to like 3pm Sunday evening. Not long, but not short either.
@darby914 Defintiely start up a date night now! My parents told us to do this when we first got married. The other thing they told us when DD was born was NO TALK OF CHILDREN on date night. They said the kids can rule your lives and you forget to be bffs and lovers and just become parents. It helps you keep other things in common. 37 years later they still have a date night, still won't talk about us kids (I think grand kids are optionally discussion topics), and have done some cool things with their date nights (i.e. cooking classes, Spanish classes, scuba diving lessons and certification).
@janda426 I am jealous your dh got to feel baby. I think I have only felt mine once. I am excited for that to come!!
@ruemorgan I am sorry about your pup. Hopefully today starts to get better.
I also can not wait for WALKING DEAD! Love it!!!
I also agree on hating the poor grammar. Leah on Teen mom 2 does it all the time. She always says things like, "The girls is my life." I just want to yell, "The girls ARE your life."
@lewispm - have so much fun in Atl! Where are you staying? I lived there for over 15 years and miss it so much!
Thanks! I'm only about 2 hours away but I haven't been in forever! I'm not too sure about exactly where we are staying, but the Hotel is the Hampton Inn Perimeter and we have plans to hit up Atlantic Station one day and Decatur for shopping/spa another.
Its 45 degrees here this morning brrr! My son and I had to bundle up for school drop off this morning. The high is only 70 today! I love Fall weather!
Those midnight sauteed mushrooms I had to have fiancée bring me last night were so good but such a bad idea. I puked them all up =/
Lastly I'm so so excited. I found out one of my really good friends from when I was married to ex husband and he was in the Navy and we were stationed in Upstate New York is moving here! Her husband is being sent to the recruiting office here. She's moving here around the time the baby is due and I'm so excited!
We never really had date nights either (DH and I) before getting married. We were in college and poor and we met through friends. Our "dates" were usually hanging out with friends or hanging out at each other's place. Then about 2 months after dating, he moved in with me when I moved onto campus. Doing date nights now it's hard. We try but finding someone to babysit and then figuring out what to do is hard and so is the financial portion. Daycare is so expensive.
@chaysefaith thanks! I can't wait for you to have your rainbow baby as well!
Idk if youre close to home or friends with other parents but my DH and I found two people who are interested in "trading" babysitting. we figured well already be home, why not watch some one else's kid and switch the next week? Ofcourse I'd only do this with people we know well and we have plently of time to work out the fine details.
@janda426 awesome about dh feeling baby! I've felt this little one a couple times but nothing concrete yet. I'm getting irritated as this is our 3rd go around but I know I'll regret it when I'm getting punched and kicked in the ribs and crotch lol
@ruemorgan I'm so sorry about your dog sending positive vibes he gets better soon! Definitely go see him.

My patience is at a -283747473828 and I feel like I'm constantly taking it out on my oldest. Someone in my previous ddc brought up that she was going through something like that and I just started to feel really guilty. I need to find a way to lower my expectations of him (he's 5) and spend more quality time with him.
Good news is we get to meet our potential new fur baby Wednesday! Super excited and hoping our Lucy and him get along so we can take him home!
I love date nights even if it is just dinner and a movie out. We haven't had much time to do something lately but I still feel very connected to my dh. We have been making sure to put our baby to bed around 7:30 and then we will watch our DVR shows and enjoy dessert together. It used to be drinks together but not since June
I really want to have a date night and go watch Gone Girl!!!
@mandjs I'm already on Zoloft I've been tapering off methadone and am down to 5mgs and I think that's testing me mentally a bit. Maybe I should talk to my doctor next week about slightly upping my Zoloft. I want to just jump off the methadone but I'm too scared too

Oh, have fun here in the ATL!! It's supposed to be chilly this weekend with highs only getting to 63 degrees tomorrow. Are you from around here?
I'm from Birmingham so our weather is pretty similar. 60's will definitely be the coldest yet for us recently, but I know it will be for y'all as well. I am looking forward to breaking out the boots!
My husband is out getting me a doughnut. I'm so very tired because I had awful nightmares all night, hence I feel like I didn't sleep at all. I think we are having a date night tonight and I'd like to be excited, but right now I just feel tired.
@janda426 so exciting about your H! I had a strong movement last night that I thought K might be able to feel but I knew it would be gone by the time he got to me. I'm still not having consistent movement. Can't wait.
Oh and I turned 19 weeks yesterday. One more until half baked
E turns 18 months tomorrow. I'm unwilling to accept this.
@chaysefaith I hate that feeling. Glad there was no blood!
@chilibeansm0m omg to this day nosebleeds traumatize me. I used to get them constantly as a child because I have horrible allergies and even when I see my daughter get them or anyone it takes me back... So sorry you wake up with that. Hopefully they'll stop soon.
@ruemorgan I hope you get to see your dog today and hoping he gets better.
@Lark425 what a horrible dream!! That made me sad.. So sorry you had that. I've had awful dreams like that about my kids before and wake up crying.
AFM: It's cold and windy here and I love it. Can't wait to break out the oversized sweaters and leggings. Looking forward to a girls night tonight and the fair tomorrow.
@ruemorgan Sorry your puppy is sick That's the worst!!
I felt flutters last night when I woke up in the middle of the night...that is the coolest feeling ever!! Remind me how exciting this is in a few months when I'm getting jabbed eighteen times an hour.
@Darbie914 My parents also told me when they were young and poor, sometimes they would just pick up fast food and go to the park to eat it. If it was cold they'd just eat it in the car and then drive around looking at houses dreaming about some day. Some dates were out with friends, but at least once a month (they're date nights are every Tues still to this day) it was just them. Sorry, if it seems like I'm spouting a lot of "my parents said..." but I think almost 40 years is a testament to having figured something out about marriage. Because this shit is tough!
That is the cutest thing. I love simple date nights. I feel like just being with the person is enough sometimes. We did the fast food thing in the car when our LO was first born because he would only nap in the evenings if we took a drive so that was our date night for a while.
@Skrittens really? you miss the ATL? What area did you live in? I can't wait until my girls graduate high school and I can move the heck outta here.
I lived in Buckhead. I moved after college and loved it. We were looking to move to Grant Park, Inman Park or Decatur before I was transferred. I still dream of living in Ansley Park - and would send my kids to the public schools in any of those neighborhoods.
Most of my friends with kids and my family live in Cumming or Lawrenceville - but we loved living ITP.

@chaysefaith I'm sorry it was a rough night. Excessive CM freaks me out too. I'm glad you are feeling better today.
