Dad books

Hi gals,
So I did a quick search for this and only found a few comments here and there - hoping this isn't a repeat thread. I know we've talked a lot about how SO's often don't really get it or connect with the whole baby making process for pretty much everything after conception and before birth, but to my delight and surprise, DH has asked me to find him some reading material to prep him for what's ahead. I got him "So You're Going to Be a Dad" way back at the beginning and he read it, but he said it was more comedy than information. I don't want to bombard him with my books because I think that would be overkill, so I'm wondering if anyone has found anything in between? Informative and serious, yet to the point and guy-friendly? I don't want to miss this rare opportunity of him taking the initiative! TIA and if this has already been discussed, I apologize and please link!

    What to Expect When Your Wife is Expanding is alright. Dude You're Gonna Be a Dad was a total joke book and was kinda chauvinistic

    I got my husband "From Dude to Dad" by Chris Pegula and I think he read 10 pages and then put it down. He said it was trying too hard to be funny and didn't have enough useful information. Then I got him "Dad's Guide to Pregnancy for Dummies" and he thought that one was a bit better, although I don't think he's read too much of it.

    Honestly, I think he finds my "Did you know....?" random conversation starters more useful.

    What is the phone app eveyone is using fot dads that says this week ur baby is the size of a roll of toliet paper and so on?

    My boyfriend liked A dad's guides for dummies. That might not be the exact title, but the line of books  "---for dummies" does a fatherhood one. I was worried he might find it condescending, but I read it too and it actually had a lot of good information. It was very factual, and came at the subject from a realistic point of view.

    My husband is just reading the same books as me. He got through Happiest Baby on the Block on one of his recent business trips and as I get more into Ina May's Natural Child Birth book I'm going to pick out some birth stories for him to read. 

    I agree that some of the "dad" books are ridiculous. I think someone got him the Military Guide to becoming a Father or something. It's more like a pamphlet than a book and I dont think there's any actual information in it.

    Thanks everyone for all the suggestions (and warnings)! I agree that there are too many books that make a joke about it and insult the dad's intelligence. I think I'll check out the website and see if it might be a good fit. Thanks again!
