Charting question

So I'm doing the fertility friend lessons and really learning about charting, and they said that antihistamines can affect your temp. Since I take daily allergy meds year round, will I negate this issue or will charting be useless for me.

I suspect AF is hearing to to appear — Amelia slept 9 hours straight last night, after 6 weeks of 5-6 hour nightly stretches. Either way, I want to start temping soon, really to get in the habit of doing it daily, and to confirm when we are past fertile times, like DC is doing.

Re: Charting question

  • I take OTC zyrtek. And like I said, definitely not looking to TTC any time soon! But I relied on bfing and the calendar a bit to heavily last time, and after three weird months of cycles, we got Amelia.

    Oops. :\">

  • @DC2London‌ Boo hiss. I'm pretty sure that AF is showing up now. I usually get an hour or two of spotting before the full onslaught, and that's happening right now. Would I count today as day one, or wait until tomorrow?

  • You consider CD1 the first day that your require a tampon/pad, not just blood on toilet paper.

I'm no help with the antihistamines, but using wondfo opk's for a few months along with charting might be helpful in helping predict and confirm ovulation.

I haven't noticed antihistamines messing with my temps (maybe they do, which would explain my ugly ass chart this cycle, awful autumn allergies).  However, they can make it more difficult to pinpoint O bc they can dry up cervical mucous.  And I'm not sure that antihistamines can delay O but NSAIDs can.
Wait, what?! That's the first I've ever heard of that! And because of my TMJ, I take NSAIDs whenever it acts up. Of course, it acts up during stressful times, so I've always assumed that delayed O during those cycles is due to the stress - I never considered NSAIDs.
So if O looks like it might be at an inconvenient time once we TTC, could I take NSAIDs to hopefully push it out a little??
