Supply dip at 9.5 months

Hello everyone!

I have been BF LO and recently started increasing solids. She is now 9.5 months old and I have noticed a huge drop in my supply. We recently had to start supplementing 1-2 ounces a day to top off her 3rd 4oz bottle at daycare. I also notice that she seems to struggle and get frustrated at the breast, like there's not enough for her.

I would really like to avoid switching her completely over to formula so close to my 1 year goal, but I'm unsure if it's even possible to increase my supply at this point.

Is a dip at this stage common, and what should I do to try to increase my supply?

Re: Supply dip at 9.5 months

  • Pretty typical from what I hear. Just stay hydrated, eat oatmeal, fenugreek, all the same stuff you'd do to build supply early on.
