I hope that others may be able to shed some light or advice on this issue…
I am fairly large chested prior to pregnancy and this only grew during pregnancy. Like we are talking about having to go to a specialty stores and Nordstrom to get fitted for bras big. Now that I am breast-feeding it is only worse. I was reading online (kellymom.com) that engorgement should only last a few days however I feel like I have been engorged since my milk came in. I am contemplating whether breast-feeding is really for me because of how large and uncomfortable my breasts are. Does this get better? I am feeling very hopeless as it gets depressing trying to find tops and bras to wear PP.
Re: Breast issues while BF
That being said, you need to choose what's best for you and your LO. No matter what you do, you are feeding your baby. Sometimes the added stress and frustration might not be worth it IMO.
Best of luck and hugs!
I just want to add that I wasn't in pain for all that time and I don't beleive my length of time was averqge either. I had engorgement with each growth spurt. At 3 months I went back to work and LO wouldn't take the bottle, so she would make up for missed feedings at night. I still pumped at work so I made my body believe I needed more milk. When that calmed down, I went back to school and my body had to readjust again.
I agree with the first poster though, I can totally get why you would want to question things. At the end of the day you have to do whats best for you, your LO and your family Good luck!

I also agree that things will start to calm down around 6 or so weeks. It seems like forever some times but try to enjoy the good times with your lo rather than the hard times bfing. I totally understand how your feeling though. I'm 11 days in and have the same big boob pain now. Especially when he goes a little longer between feeding. Ouch.
