Brown Discharge at 14 Weeks

Hello.
I'm currently 14 weeks and over the past week have had on and off brown spotting/discharge. It's not a lot, pretty watery in consistency. (Not sure if it's relevant but we did IVF, male factor and just stopped progesterone shots on 9-15). My doc checked me out and said I everything felt fine but ordered an ultrasound on Tuesday -- baby was measuring right on time and looked great. I'm still spotting, though. Just wondering if anyone had dealt with this and has any advice? Trying not to worry but it's hard as I'm sure you all know.
Thanks for reading.

Re: Brown Discharge at 14 Weeks

  • I haven't experienced that. But it's old blood if it's brown, and it seems your OB gave you a thorough exam. I wouldn't worry.

  • If everything checked out okay at the u/a and with the doctor then it is probably just cervical irritation. Very common, although tough emotionally if you don't know what going on.

  • I experience brown spotting about a month ago freaked out and went to the ER everything was fine..the doctor told me it can happen...it lasted about 4 days and went away!
Try not to worry too much mama (haha we all know that's way easier said than done!!!)
  • I've been having it for about 2 weeks on and off. I'm 13 3/7. Everything with the baby is fine and no sign of bleeding in uterus, so my OB said to take it easy and be on pelvic rest until to my next appointment (meaning nothing in the vagina.)

Sorry you are going through this too, but luckily it seems to be somewhat normal :)
