Scheduled RCS question

For those of you having a scheduled RCS, how much earlier are you having it done before your actual due date? I finally got mine scheduled today, and I was just curious how early your dr's were scheduling them for you. Sorry if this has been talked about before, but I didn't see anything.

Re: Scheduled RCS question

  • My doctor is now going on vacation the week we had originally thought it would be, so we now have it scheduled for 2 days before my due date. I'm all for having her as close to 40 weeks as possible, but I was just curious if that was normal to wait right up until the actual due date.

  • Mine is scheduled on my EDD. They wanted it at 39 weeks but since I'm not having any health issues I asked if we could wait until 40 weeks.

  • Okay, that makes me feel better that I'm not the only one waiting until 40 weeks :)

  • Mine schedules exactly at 39 weeks but he moved my edd by one day so we could fudge it a little since 38w6d is a Friday and 39w would have been saturday. He moved my edd from 10/11 to 10/10

But honestly this guy would come before my edd...at least I feel that way
  • Mine won't be reoccurring since this is my first, but we scheduled for c/s or induction on my due date which is 10/7. (It's actually 2 days after my due date according to my doctor's office since they have me due 10/5)
  • If baby is still breech on Tuesday, we have to set a date. My doctor said she schedules a week before EDD. She said she doesn't like scheduling it past 39 weeks because she doesn't want to risk me to go into labor.

Doctor scheduled at 39 weeks exactly.
I asked if we could do just a few days earlier and he said no, against hospital policy.
And when I asked him why do we schedule it 1 week early he said for risk of rupture if I were to go into labor on my own.

  • They let me pick a day any time in my 39th week (except weekend days... They don't schedule it then). I did it 10/6, EDD is 10/8. I wanted ds to bake as long as possible. He can come whenever though!

That's how I feel. I obviously want to let this baby stay in as long as possible. However, I initially had the feeling oh I would just go in on the scheduled date and have everything planned. Now I have an overwhelming feeling of it not being planned and me going into labor before since it's right at my due date. I mean, either way it's not a big deal, I just feel that it's a less out of my hands now that it's later than what I thought.

  • Mine was scheduled for exactly 39w. I wish they would've scheduled for 40w, but my OB is annoyingly adamant about scheduling at 39.

  • My doctor prefers them
As close to the due date as possible and not before 39 weeks. They do not do VBACs but he was totally supportive of me scheduling for
41 weeks and if I go into labor before that then I go in for a Csection. So mine is scheduled for 41 weeks.

  • I'm scheduled for Oct 29th. My due date is November 1st.

I think we might have the same dr! My dr is on vacation the week I turn 39 weeks so we scheduled it for 2 days before my due date. My rcs is 10/20.
  • My Dr said I could pick any day in my 39th week as long as it was a weekday.
I ended up picking 10/1 which was exactly 39weeks for me. I just had this funny feeling that's when she would come. And she did! Water actually broke :)
  • Mine also does them during week 39. Could've picked between 10/15 and 10/21. scheduled for 10/20 EDD 10/22. Hopefully I don't go into labor before then.

  • Im due 10/9, my RCS is scheduled for Monday (10/6)
  • This LO was 39w3d I've also had 39w4d 40w1d and another 39w3d. My 40w1d was because they had already moved my EDD by 2 weeks and I was anxious about going any earlier.
